Carla Valenti - Bruxaria 1610 ( Dj Set )

Folklorist since childhood, from instruments to the rhythms, the Barcelona-based Chilean Carla Valenti had connected the electronic music’s world with her roots and aspirations using instinctive, natural and placid ways. Almost a decade ago, she started a career as DJ, firstly Carla played pop and gradually discovered electronic music, at the same time was inviting herself to explore melodic and percussive cycles, tones of nuance, from reggae to hardcore. Meanwhile, when graduating in Sound Technology, music production became a huge interest to her, and after five years investigating, studying, and listening, she’s at the point of no-turning-back, using imagination to create her own meanings and blurring the line between DJ and composer. 

In a throwback to the days when she was too small to understand the messages revealed by music, mainly folklore - which for a long time was the only form allowed to the people who wanted to protest in order to have their own rightful voice, Carla reframes the storytelling underneath society’s surface and then now understands what happened, especially the military coup that overthrew Chile's constitutional democratic regime. In practical terms, aside from the fact that music and politics coexist, she knows that both accompanies and records the evolution and regression of humankind. And it is from this singular and precious intersection that her work transcends every genre it examines, driving such a compelling, eclectic and organic sound that is not afraid to set side by side mainstream and underground.

Overall, to break free from the patterns she put on herself, Carla shows off that being vulnerable is not a scary thing, contrariwise, means something else when it’s placed in connection with human flourishing. Then, conducting electronic music as a mode of looking back to see ahead, also to create a space where life can be analyzed and deconstructed, far from being interpreted in a narrow sense.

Amateur es el resultado de un proceso y ejercicio de conformación de una obra colectiva en un montaje audiovisual de danza y, como ha venido reivindicando el feminismo y más recientemente los estudios de masculinidades, quiso expandir el desarrollo humano de quienes participaron para ser y sentir libremente; disfrutar de las diferencias, soñar, aspirar, comportarse y pensar con independencia del género al que pertenezcan. Por tanto es una apuesta y un reclamo al derecho a autoidentificarse.

Carla Valenti - La Stella dell’Araucania

A folklorist since she was little, from the instruments to the rhythms, the Chilean Carla Valenti connected the world of electronic music with her roots and aspirations in an instinctive, natural and placid way. 
Almost a decade ago she began her career as a DJ, first Carla played different styles and little by little she discovered electronic music, at the same time she invited herself to explore melodic and percussive cycles, tones of nuances, from reggae to hardcore Metal.
When she graduated in Sound Technology, she began to know the world of machines, audio, live music and also play at parties, music production more and more became a great interest and need for her, and after five years researching, studying and listening, there was no going back, using the imagination to create their own meanings and blur the line between DJ and composer.
In a throwback to the days when she was too young to understand the messages that music revealed, mainly folklore, which for a long time was the only way people who wanted to protest were allowed to have their own voice, Carla reformulates the narration below from the surface of society and now understands what happened, especially the military coup that overthrew Chile's constitutional democratic regime. 
In practical terms, in addition to the fact that music and politics coexist, she knows that both accompany and record the evolution and regression of humanity. 
And it is from this uniqueness and precious intersection that her work transcends all the genres that she examines, promoting such an irresistible, eclectic and organic sound.

Carla Valenti - La Stella dell’Araucania

Folclorista, dagli strumenti ai ritmi, sin da piccola, la cilena Carla Valenti connette il mondo della musica elettronica con le sue radici e aspirazioni in modo istintivo, naturale e pacato.
Circa una decade fa Carla inizia la sua carriera da DJ, inizialmente suonando stili differenti per poi a poco a poco scoprire la musica elettronica, contemporaneamente inizia ad esplorare cicli melodici e percussivi, toni e sfumature, dal reggae al metal hardcore.
Laureata in Tecnologia del Suono inizia a conoscere il mondo delle macchine audio, della musica live e suona anche a delle feste, la produzione musicale diventa sempre più un grande interesse e bisogno per lei e dopo cinque anni di ricerche, studi e ascolti il punto di non ritorno: usare l’immaginazione per dare un proprio senso e sfumare le linee tra la DJ e la compositrice.
Tornando ai giorni in cui lei era troppo giovane per capire il messaggio rivelatore della musica, principalmente quella folcloristica, che per un lungo periodo di tempo era l’unico modo consentito alla gente per esprimere la propria voce di protesta, Carla riporta la narrativa sulla superficie della società capendo adesso cosa è realmente accaduto specialmente con il colpo di stato militare che rovesciò il sistema costituzionale democratico cileno.
In pratica, in aggiunta al fatto che musica e politica coesistono, lei sa che entrambe accompagnano e registrano l’evoluzione e il regresso dell’umanità.
Ed è da questa unicità e preziosa intersezione che il suo lavoro trascende tutti i generi che lei esamina, producendo sonorità così irresistibili, organiche ed eclettiche allo stesso tempo.
