DJ, producer, musicista e tecnico del suono, Carlo Esse si appassiona prestissimo al mondo della musica.  Nato a Milano nel 1989 in una famiglia di musicisti, a 6 anni inizia a studiare pianoforte e batteria. 
La sua carriera da DJ inizia nel 2005, a 16 anni. Dal 2010 ha iniziato a produrre i primi inediti a cui hanno presto fatto seguito le collaborazioni con alcune delle principali etichette dance indipendenti italiane.
Nel 2016 viene pubblicato da Ego Music il remix realizzato insieme ad Andry J della hit mondiale "Ego", brano che nella versione originale ha fatto conoscere all’Italia (disco di platino) e al mondo intero l'artista francese Willy William. 
Nello stesso anno Carlo viene scelto dalla DIY, sempre in accoppiata con Andry J, per remixare la hit internazionale “Rendez Vous” della cantante Inna. Il brano nella versione originale raggiunge un gran successo in Italia ed Europa ed il remix viene licenziato anche su Roton Music. 
Nel 2017 la DIY gli affida uno dei remix ufficiali del brano “Body 2 Body” della band canadese Dragonette e nel 2018 il remix di “I’m In Love” di Safeway, una delle hit della musica dance italiana uscita 15 anni prima. Il 2019 si apre con il debutto su Bang Record con l'inedito "Another Day" a cui seguirà il follow up “Rush In My Heart”.
Lo stesso anno, la DIY gli affida altri 2 remix di due classici della dance anni '90: “Vamos A La Playa” di Miranda e "Come Together" di B.A.R. feat. Roxy nella versione 2019 di Miss Nipple che, dopo pochissimi giorni dall'uscita, viene licenziata anche in Germania, Austria e Svizzera su Kontor Records oltre che in Australia, Nuova Zelanda ed Israele.
Nel 2022 pubblica con lo pseudonimo Charlie Funky il brano "This Is The Time" cantato da Vivian B, una delle cantanti dance italiane più conosciute in Europa in quanto voce dei Da Blitz e nel 2023 il remix di "Stay With Me", portato al successo proprio dai Da Blitz nel 1994. Il 2024 si apre con "In The Name Of Love", brano pubblicato sempre come Charlie Funky e cantato da Vivian B.
Dal 2018 Carlo è stabilmente in FM e realizza diversi programmi mixati per l’emittente Viva FM. Nel 2019 ha collaborato anche con Discoradio realizzando la versione mixata del programma “Rhythmic History”;
