Collective Room is here to showcase artists that define advanced electronic music. 

This second episode, we welcome to the collective family the talented duo from Montreal, Canada. MONITOR is Erik El and Bruno Brown,

Well established in the Electronic scene since 2009.

These guys currently have a residency at the legendary club Stereo Montreal which features  their theme night Beatbox. They also feature in other venues including big festivals such as Picnik Electronik and Igloofest and BPM festival. 

Monitor and l meet in the year of 2011 while going on a trip to Montreal seeking for new experiences and great underground music, at the time this guys ware residents of club circus after-hours, one year later they ask me to join them in the booth.

New on Zatar is a three tracker from NIIXII, the DJ and producer based in Barcelona. Her Magia cut is deep, melodic tech house track with a bewitching melodic flourish referencing middle eastern roots. It's hypnotic and affecting and the perfect calling card for NIIXII’s distinct take on house.  

Magia is also remixed by Wally Lopez here, who addis his own sprinkling of magic to the track. As Wally describes:  "I'm a huge fan of Zatar and when they sent me some original songs I knew that we had something special on Magia and wanted to put my touches on it“.  

The EP is rounded off nicely with One Last Dance, a beautiful deep cut with oceans of ambience that will be as equally at home at sunset as sunrise.

CLARAA @ Unlimited Festival - Mont Blanc March 2024

Carlos has been letting his music do the talking with tracks that drive hyper-kinetic drums and experimental vocals. His sound is a journey into deep, smooth elements influenced by his Colombian roots. His style captures the crowd and makes them groove at big room venues and with his own produced soundscapes at after-hour chill outs.

Being exposed to the house music scene at the age of 15 in NYC by house dancers, Carlos quickly adapted. It was at that point when he picked up DJ'ing and began getting noticed by the house community. Evolving his diverse music taste that reflected in his style, fine tech house minimal influence with a deep sonic flow and dub out techno, he than collaborated with resident DJs, playing at venues such as Sin Sin, Sullivan Room, GreenHouse, Bar 13, Cielo, Circus after-hours, Stereo (Montreal).

Carlos has shared the booth with the well-known likes of Stacey Pullen, Monoloc, Frankie Bones, Robert Dietz, Miss Jools Porter, Monika Kruse, The Martinez Brothers, Cari Lekebusch, Monitor MTL, Martinez, &ME to name a few.
