This song is just about the turbulent times I've been feeling when creating music. Like how hard it can be to get over the voice in your head saying "yeah, you're not that good." even though you know YOU ARE that good. And the frustration that comes with existing in general these days. There is A LOT more I wanted to vent about but I would need another album for that. Anyways today, as I post this... 7-4-24 marks the FIRST anniversary of "Damn I Exist" so this in celebration of that great project as well. "Dumb Diddy" is about a past abusive relationship that I was in. I was afraid and felt trapped where I was at. Manipulated to the point where I thought it was okay to be hurt all the time. I let someone else control my life for a large portion of it. This is this first time I have ever spoke on the abuse before. I'm hoping for everyone to understand it is up to SPEAK UP. I was silent about it for a long time, trapped in a Stockholm syndrome. However, with courage and strength I was able to push through the abuse. No matter your gender it is okay to admit that you were abused. I was afraid to tell anyone because I am a male, and we are supposed to always appear strong and to push feelings away. You can only do that so much and the pain will manifest in other parts of your life. Don't be afraid to get yourself out of terrible situations. You have purpose and don't forget it.
You are not alone, you are beautiful, and you are important.
