We announce the release of our new single Got This Fellin’, a song from the album ‘Del Otún & el Mississippi’, which will be promoted during our seventh US tour.

After the enriching tour through the south of the continent in Chile, land of Mapuches and Diaguitas, continues the AbyaYala-America Tour, but this time up north in the United States, land of Cherokee and Choctaw.

We’re glad to share our new single ‘Got this feelin’, which shows a new sound in our music, exploring some southern R&B with a song that describes a romantic story of a love at first sight, and sometimes this love can be very elusive.

This song was inspired by the music we hear coming from jukeboxes during breaks in the Juke Joints we usually play in Mississippi.

Got This Feelin'  - Carlos Elliot Jr. & The Cornlickers

The song “Down In Como” describes a party time in Como, Mississippi, hometown of the great master R.L. Boyce. We have had the blessing of participating in many traditional "Backyard Blues Parties" in Como with some of the living legends of the Hill Country Blues.

R.L. Boyce played drums for his uncle Othar Turner and has appeared in some of his recordings, played for many years for Jessie Mae Hemphill, was first-cousin to RL Burnside and his family is related to Muddy Waters. One of his mentors was his neighbor for many years Mississippi Fred McDowell. This video is dedicated to this generous living legend.

The song “Down In Como” is the second single and the first song on the new album “Del Otún & el Mississippi” by Carlos Elliot Jr. & The Cornlickers.

Down In Como - Carlos Elliot Jr. & The Cornlickers feat. R.L.Boyce

Our most recent production "H'okhá", the first single from our fourth album "Gente Espíritu".  The full album will be released Late 2020.
"H'okhá" was created about 6 years ago at a time of many changes in our lives.   A song that has been evolving and its reappearance seems perfectly timed to accompany this moment of change, and to remind us of the cyclical nature of life and its constant transformation. Composed in Spanish, the song includes chants in the native language of the Lakota community and its name refers to an expression that can be interpreted as the practice of the medicine man who plays his drum and sings as a part of their dance ritual activating medicine with the vibration.
 
"H'okhá" was recorded this year in the United States under the label Right Coast Recording by producer Bobby Gentilo, and with the participation of Dale Wise on drums, Carlos Elliot on vocals and guitar, Bobby Gentilo on guitar and backing vocals and Reed Brown on the PowBow drum and chants.

Carlos Elliot is a band collectively aligned with artists from different cultures, sharing a message of union in community, and universal love. They’ve been called pioneers of Hill Country Blues in Latin America, one of the outstanding artists of the new electric blues and alternative scene in the world. Hailing from Colombia and United States, this crew is constantly creating, touring, inspiring, and supporting causes aligned with their vision.

They've been bringing this multi-dimensional experience to audiences in 16 countries throughout Europe, Asia, and America. Their music mixes raw blues of Mississippi with a tribal native American flavor, some dirty blues Rock, traditional Colombian, among other rhythms.  For the past 12 years they’ve regularly performed with legendary Delta and Hill Country masters, right in the cradle of Blues, Mississippi.
