Budé Room immanquable puisqu'on reçoit Voltaire, afin de célébrer la sortie de son premier album "Echoes", sur Cod3 QR, ce même vendredi 20. Quelle meilleure façon de célébrer la musique ?

Révélé précisément sur Cod3 QR, le label de Laurent Garnier et Oliver Way, le producteur français Voltaire ambitionne de devenir une figure clé du renouveau de la musique électronique française avec ce premier album, qui marie tonalités électro, élégances techno, inspirations detroitesques parfaitement digérées et constructions mélodiques minutieuses.

Voltaire n'appartient pas au sérail, aux circuits préférentiels de l'univers électro : c'est un artiste qui a construit sa carrière par passion, après que la musique électronique lui soit tombée dessus un peu par hasard. Originaire d'une région éloignée des circuits privilégiés de l'univers électro, il a cultivé ses prédispositions en autarcie. Très vite, le musicien met à profit sa formation dans l'audiovisuel (où il travaille comme preneur de son et mixeur pour le cinéma, la publicité et la haute couture) pour élever la qualité artistique et technique de ses productions à un très haut niveau.

Voltaire utilise son approche perfectionniste de la musique pour créer un éclectisme riche en émotions, inspiré par des réminiscences des signatures historiques de la musique électronique, des pionniers de Détroit aux glorieuses décennies électro des années 2000 et 2010. Entre nostalgie et recherche de nouvelles formes d'électro contemporaine, qui doit concilier efficacité et inspiration : "J'aime toutes les facettes de la musique électronique et je veux rester ouvert à toutes les influences. Cette approche me permet aussi d'éviter de formater ma musique".
Ce vendredi soir, Budé Room reçoit donc Voltaire, ainsi qu'une belle bande d'amis autour de lui avec notamment Camille Rodriguez, Pedro Datana et Klaam !

Our latest compilation features seven artists: Mirko Loko, Fitzherbert, Works Of Intent, LEVOS, Hilit Kolet, Monfort, and Marco Bailey.

Mirko Loko, a prominent Swiss talent, known for his work as resident DJ at Couleur 3 and Loft Electroclub, and artistic director of Polaris festival, contributes "Mind Your Step." His releases include those on COD3 QR (under the alias Bel Air Ltd.), Planet E, Border Community, Cocoon, and Visionquest.

Fitzherbert, a producer and DJ, began his musical journey at age 9. After gaining attention as part of the duo Lakechild, he brings his solo sound, blending disco, funk, house, and techno. His previously self-released "Short Trip to Space" is now featured on COD3 QR.

Works Of Intent, a UK-based mix-engineer-designer-essayist and activist, offers productions rooted in the UK underground with techno and pop influences. A master of live edits and four-deck wizardry, he is also project manager of DAYTIMERS and a designer and mix engineer. His track on the compilation is "Erase It."

LEVOS, a rising Australian talent from Sydney, is known for his record label and party series CG Discs, and explosive DJ sets. He also pushes the Sydney dance scene with Jazz Doof parties and performs live as Flux State. He brings a D&B touch with "Hood Oos" to COD3 QR.

London-based DJ and producer Hilit Kolet, a classically trained musician and veteran of Black Market Records, delivers high-octane DJ sets and sharp productions. Her track "Sunbed Tripper" features the spoken words of Juliet Mendoza.

Monfort, the new alias of Spanish producer and DJ Albert Salvatierra, makes his COD3 QR debut with "La Musique." His sound emphasizes strength and precision, crafted for both dance floors and attentive listening, with this track showcasing a more introspective approach.

Marco Bailey, a Belgian techno luminary with over three decades in the industry, contributes "Sweet Irony" to close the compilation. A regular on COD3 QR, his tracks have also appeared on Intec, Bedrock, and Cocoon.

CARLOS NILMMNS 

Ross McMillan, known professionally as Carlos Nilmmns, is a Scottish electronic music producer, DJ, and composer originally from Glasgow. His interest in electronic music began in the early 1990s, influenced by the local scene and early releases from Glasgow’s 23rd Precinct Records. By the late 1990s, he began producing music and studying audio engineering, laying the foundation for his career.

As of 2025 - He is now focusing on various projects for Laurent Garnier's label Cod3 Qr and Ornaments. His collaboration song with Genoveva is featured on the TRAX 40 compilation as reported by DJ Mag has been nominated for 3 Grammys. As a performer, McMillan has played DJ and live sets at clubs and festivals across Europe and internationally under various aliases. He continues to produce, perform, and collaborate on projects across electronic music, film, and the performing arts.

LIFE RECORDER

The Life Recorder identity was born in 2006 with the first steps in production. Over time, Kriss became one of the French representatives of a “Deep” sound influenced by Detroit and a certain musical vision. On the DJing side, we have been able to find him through the years behind the decks showing his ability to mix together Deep house and techno at Globus (Tresor)Berlin, Night Moves (Jane Fitz's party) in London..Paris, Manchester , Belgrade, Tbilisi to name a few...
