The "rap duo" has forged it's title in Hiphop's sacred tablet and has spawned some of the greatest artists across generations. From EPMD to the most recent Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, the rap duo has proven to be an unstoppable force in the perpetual creative space that is Hiphop music.

Ripynt & Carl Roe continue the tradition by combining Rip's super quick-witted rap talent with Roe's sharp, progressively modern boom-bap approach to production and engineering. Together, they display proficiency in every element necessary to deliver an authentic performance on both record and stage. Super-lyricism, catchy hooks and highly accessible subject matter are all staples in this duo's formula.

Ripynt caught the newly separated Army Vet's attention through several projects he has released in the past which prompted the commencement of Roe's production becoming exclusive to Rip's brand of Hiphop.

Ripynt & Carl Roe debuted their first joint album Underrated in November of 2013. Ripynt's new album A Beautiful Funeral is available now and Carl Roe's solo album titled Ones & Zeroes expected to release late this year. The triple-threat rap duo continues to open for national acts in Seattle, WA, and are actively pursuing out of state show dates.

Seattle-based Carl Roe pays homage to his former stomping grounds while delivering dizzying raps on his new single, “S State St.” In addition to featuring funky and slapping production supplied by Nottz, and cuts from DJ Revolution, the track serves as the first preview of Roe’s forthcoming LP, 'Eleven Chuck.'

If you’ve followed Roe’s career just the past few years, you know he’s been on an absolute tear. Either on his own, or with collaborators—like with Ripynt on 2015’s great, Martians—the rapper/producer’s output is nothing short of impressive. And that trend only looks to continue with 'Eleven Chuck.'

The album arrives this November 11th, Veteran’s Day. This is a significant day for Roe, a veteran of US Army, with a total of over eight years of service under his belt. He also has the skills to tussle with any wack rappers who come his way, and they’re all under fire on “S. Ahead of his much-anticipated new LP, 'Eleven Chuck,' due out this Friday (Veterans Day), Seattle’s Carl Roe delivers another heavy hitting track, “Roe’s House,” that’s towering with wordplay and blistering bars.

The thing is, Roe’s rhymes are impressive beyond the fact that he’s a technical beast, and he makes that clear in the track’s hilarious intro. Over a vintage church sample, he performs an absurd Arnold Schwarzenegger impression (straight from 1999’s End of Days), adding a bit of levity to the track.

But “Roe’s House” is no joke, because Roe straight-up murders the layered, sample-flipping instrumental from Australian producer, Rahjconkas. His beat is all pianos, brass, and head-nodding drums, the perfect canvas for the Seattle native to showcase his burgeoning vocal skills and, of course, those immense rapping chops. 

On that note, Peep these bars from the final verse: “Just when you thought you seen the best of Roe, I made him greater/ Here’s some advice you can take away and save for later/ Kill your father like you’re Luke and say, ‘I made it, Vader’/ And don’t work with your idols if you don’t want to hate ‘em later.”

Seattle’s Carl Roe provides an endearing peek into this life with his strikingly down-to-earth new video for “Gratitude Rock,” the fantastic closing track off his recently released album, 'Eleven Chuck.'

Just like he does through the music itself, Roe opens up and gets personal with his fans, allowing them to see into every part of his day. And in the case of this video, that means proudly reppin’ his Army veteran status, rocking shows and interacting with fans and other artists, while making sure to keep his art at the forefront of his quest. 

And it’s all seen through the lens of fellow Seattle resident Produktive Entertainment, a videographer/editor/director who used a black-and-white filter for the clip. The color scheme is perfectly fitting, because there’s something extra-homely and nostalgic about the track. Perhaps it’s the dreamy, thoughtful production from Carolinah Blu, which Roe just sounds so comfortable using as the canvas on “Gratitude Rock.”

The Seattle by-way-of Illinois native Carl Roe is many things: a Hip-Hop artist with talents as an emcee and producer; a meticulous craftsman known for his skills as a mixing engineer; and a proud US Army veteran. Above all else, however, he’s a man striving to stay true to himself—and that’s what makes his latest project, 'Eleven Chuck,' such an important, but also engaging, listen.

Roe’s ever-growing catalogue—including last year’s great 'Ones And Zeroes'—certainly boasts moments of introspection amidst personal tales. However, he is pulling back the curtain more than ever across 'Eleven Chuck'’s 17 tracks, which is evident in the album’s title. It’s a reference to his job classification, as an 11C Mortarman, during his military tenure.

“This album contains songs that are a lot more personal to me,” Roe says. “Even though the album is not about my time in the military as an 11C, it’s in my blood, and it’s what I am to the core. 'Eleven Chuck' will forever be a part of me and I felt the title was very fitting for such a personal project.”

What’s particularly telling while listening to Roe’s music is that he’s passionate but doesn’t take himself too seriously. That sentiment bleeds through several highlights on here, such as the Nottz-produced lead single, “S. State St.,” that’s an upbeat ode to his stomping grounds. Carl Roe - Bar Fight Writstyle

Carl Roe is a Seattle Hiphop artist, producer and engineer. After spending some time in the US Army Infantry, music has welcomed him with open arms. Following his 2009 release of The Broken Time Machine EP & 2010 release of The Mini Tape, he has been working heavily with fellow artist Ripynt. The two formed the formidable duo Ripynt & Carl Roe and released the album Underrated in 2013. 

Carl Roe continues to work with various artists both local and nationally by providing several services in the Hiphop sphere. Ripynt & Carl Roe have performed with national acts such as Krizz Kaliko, Ces Cru, Brotha Lynch Hung, Grayskul and Kutt Calhoun. Most recently, they were selected to perform in the 2014 A3C Festival in Atlanta.

Carl Roe's debut full length album Ones And Zeroes released March 10, 2015. The second Ripynt & Carl Roe album, MARTIANS, released Fall of 2015.
