After a series of stand out releases in 2023, Carly Wilford has secured her space as one of the most promising new names in dance music. With her music heavily backed by Radio 1, she has gained ongoing support from @sarahstory and @dannyhowarddj as well as becoming @jaguarworldwide ’s ‘Dance Floor Moment’. Riding high in Spotify and Apple Music’s editorial playlists, her tunes have been streamed by millions globally whilst also being backed by the likes of Annie Mac, Green Velvet, LP Giobbi and Eli Brown. 

Playing this year’s BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend and with a standout performance at Glastonbury Festival this year, her high energy sets bring forward a new wave of house music whilst honouring the very roots of the scene she grew up raving to. Starting out as a Presenter, her early career saw her take over the airwaves on the Rinse FM Breakfast Show before taking bold steps to become a respected DJ and Music Producer.

After learning to produce in lockdown and hearing the statistic that only 2% of women were Music Producers, Carly decided that there was work to be done 🦾

Found behind the decks at the UK’s most celebrated clubs and touring festivals across the world she has played stand out sets at Parklife, Bestival, Wireless, Reading, Isle of Wight, Citadel and Lovebox as well as Fabric, XOYO and Ministry of Sound. Strongly connecting both the US and UK music scenes, her solid roots in the UK have helped to bring through so many of the artists on today’s airwaves. Her confidence to take risks on musicians from a very early stage has seen her build bonds with the likes of Sam Smith, SG Lewis, Rudimental and Skrillex who have all spoken publicly about her unrivalled support. She was named by SheSaidSo on their Alternative Power 100 Music List 2019 and more recently winning the award for Music and Entertainment at the Women Leaders Awards 2020. 

It’s abundantly clear the impact that Carly continues to make on the industry and we’re filled with emotion to be able to shine a spotlight on her with this mix! 🥹

After a series of standout releases in 2023 on labels like Nervous and Armada Subjekt, Carly Wilford has secured her space as one of the most promising new names in dance music. Announced as one of the ‘Future of Dance’ best producers in the world by 1001Tracklists and with shows at Glastonbury and Radio One’s ’Big Weekend’, she is firing on all cylinders right now. Here she drops her debut single on Toolroom, but her involvement and relationship with the label goes back many years.

Carly is an avid attendee at our ‘We Are Listening’ events that encourage women in dance music, she has completed 2 Toolroom Academy production courses and has signed 2 album exclusives to the label in recent years, so this is a real career highlight and success story that proves, hard work does pay off! Here she teams up with dubstep legend SGT Pokes who, for the first time in his career, lends his trademark, gritty vocals to a tech house track.

The record itself is a heads-down, tech house stomper! It has a real unique, original flavour and will be setting dance floors alight as we enter 2024!
