This was a bit of an unusual one to put together, mainly because I aimed at not really focusing on chords. Instead, I utilized a drone throughout (for the most part) and had a bit of harmony going with the piano, but mostly octaves on all other instruments and then the main ascending line and melody. It feels to me suited as a main titles type theme for sci-fi.

The Tunnel

An update to my previous WIP. A couple of updates to dynamics and overall mix, fixed some release sample issues by pulling the quieter transition parts into separate tracks.

In addition to the 8dio Lacrimosa choirs, I chose to use Spitfire Audio's Eric Whitacre Choir primarily for the start and ending choral parts. Lacrimosa is still blended with these, however, and stands out a bit more in the final crescendo.

I adjusted some legato transitions to portamento in a few places and replaced the BBCSO solo cello with the Spitfire Audio Solo Cello (Total Performance from Spitfire Solo Strings). This has a much more up close sound, which I have also brought out. There's one part I'm not completely happy with, but it will be fixed in the final WIP.

Also fixed the measures after the final crescendo that had managed to somehow stay at 75bpm instead of the updated tempo of 80bpm, while also increasing the tempo progressively during the buildups.

Replaced the BBCSO tenor and bass trombone sections with 8dio's Eighth Wonder Orchestra brass, using the lower end of the patch, and adding 8dio's Epic Taiko Ensemble to the final buildup.

Still need to adjust the mixing a bit, but I think it's in a generally good state.
