New York City singer/songwriter was born into music. Her mother a dancer and father a Salsa musician; she is bred for this. She began singing at the age of 5 in a children’s church choir and writing her first song at the age of 8. She was also a lead soloist in her school chorus and was a member of the New York City Housing Choir. She participated at Amateur Night at the Apollo at the age of 13; in which she received an outstanding applause. Raised in the South Bronx, she has always been around Hip-Hop; having the opportunity to collaborate with rappers such as Kool G. Rap, Capone, Noreaga and Cuban Link. As a songwriter she has written songs for Huey Dunbar of the Latin Pop group DLG and is currently working on more music for other artists. 
Carmen released her first solo album in 2006. "The Music Inside of My Soul" was a musical collaboration with Max Perez of MightyOne Music. The two were introduced through a mutual friend. When they first met in the studio Max gave Carmen 10 tracks and in two days she came back with 9 songs; those songs soon became part of the album and the relationship continued from there. Ms. Beretta sang and co-wrote with the group The Onez. They have released two videos "Save Me" and "Don’t Stop" and received great reviews. 
Currently she has been working on a Mixtape E.P entitled, 
“Weekend Music”, which consists of a collection of tracks from new and upcoming producers. The 7 song mixtape is light, fun and carefree. This project showcases her versatility as a songwriter; with records that range from pop to underground dance; definitely what’s hot right now!! 
1st single off Weekend Music “In Love With a DJ” feat Megatron is already a DJ favorite. “Full of the energy that you can’t help but vibe to” says whybluematters.com, who featured Carmen on their First Listen Series. 
Showing no sign of slowing down “I have enough music inside to share with the world” Carmen says about her desire to work with other artists. "I love when I can create a story from only a few chords of melody...this is my life and I love doing it". 
With hip relevancy and a deep rooted soul in music Carmen Beretta has managed to invent herself into a songwriter that can dabble in every type of genre. "I don’t consider myself really stuck in any particular style of music...I love Rock, Pop, Hip-Hop, Country and everything in between...If I like it I want to make it."
