Soul ties is written about the deep connection we have in relationships, and even once that relationship has ended. When you may no longer be physically attached to that person but can't seem to shake them off emotionally or spiritually. It was also written to remind ourselves that when we are in relationships it is important to love yourself and live as individuals, so that when you find that someone, you don't lose yourself.

July is my first single of 2020 and refers to a temporary casual fling over the summer, more commonly the situation-ships that last the duration of a few months but leave a lasting internal affect. It was written based on the realisation that seasonal relationships extend beyond points of time and every casual lover has fairly serious implications. This song is an all female collaboration which I am very proud of.

With influences heavily drawn to RnB, Jazz and Neo Soul, Carmen’s soulful vocals and personal capture of ‘melodic alternative slow jams’ give the ever-evolving singer the ambiguity beyond that of a conventional artist. 

After the success of her debut single ‘Hopeless’ in 2018, (which found its way naturally onto various Spotify playlists raking 54K views+), Carmen returns with her first single of 2019 called ‘High Day’. which is out now.
