North London-based songstress Carmen Lees showcases her intimate, romantic vocals in her Neo-Soul-inspired tracks that feature classical twists. 

Organically combining a fascination with jazz chords and darker hip-hop beats, this R&B songstress reintroduces herself to the music industry, creating an atmosphere with her sound that is born from her naturally lazy free vocal. Highlighting her technical flexibility across each performance, Carmen uses delicate melodies and layered lush harmonies. 

After meeting Robin Banerjee (former guitarist for Amy Winehouse featuring on the 2006 award-winning Back to Black album) in Ronnie Scotts jazz club, a collaboration began starting with ‘Foolish Views’ which caught the eye of BBC introducing stations. Her debut single ‘Part Time’ received airplay from Tom Robinson on BBC Radio 6 Music alongside Track Of The Week title from BBC Introducing Devon and Cornwall. Alongside some influential artists, Carmen has received press coverage from Notion Magazine and Spindle Magazine. 

Defining her sound as a new artist and fusion songwriter, Carmen radiates honesty through her storytelling and emotional lyrics, blending genres which can clearly be heard throughout her material.
