In April 2023, Officium released eight immersive trip-hop tracks as their debut solo LP on Teenage Menopause. The album was warmly received across music communities with shared influences, leading to extensive play and broadcasts. Inspired by conversations with collaborators, Officium decided to invite friends and influences to reshape the tracks—scratching, grinding, trimming, delaying, or distorting them to create their own unique versions. The result is 18 distinct tracks that embrace experimentation and push genre boundaries, capturing a vibrant snapshot of France’s eclectic music scene.

Today on Meta Moto Premieres, we’re thrilled to present Naomie Klaus’s remix of More Nothing, an Officium track set to drop on Teenage Menopause Records this month on the 22nd. Naomie Klaus is a standout talent in the experimental music scene, boasting three incredible albums to her name. Known for her captivating live performances, Klaus brings her unique touch to this remix, delivering a fresh and brilliant take on the original track.

Early last year, Punctum finished recording their debut record, Remote Sensing, at the legendary EMS studio in Stockholm. After nearly a year and a half, the album is finally ready for public consumption. I have an oddly personal relationship to an album that is not yet released. I first got a taste of their work in a mix from Maria W Horn, which featured the heavy and hypnotic ‘Quick Botta’. This became a major go-to headphone listen. Strongly recommended for long journeys in the dark.

Technically speaking, a lot of the music on this record quite simple to describe. 303s, 606s and Buchlas dance around each other like an harmonic kaleidoscope. But listen to ‘Glory Bitch’ below. There’s a lot more going on here than simple synth meanderings, the likes of which every bedroom producer knows all too well. There is a meticulous care that has been taken in its entrance and exit. It’s like a set of opening credits, or an tuning orchestra, setting the stage for something huge, before snaking away into the distance. Fitting then, this should be the opening for one of the most exciting records in recent memory.

In September 2002 Mika Vainio, Ryoji Ikeda and Alva Noto (Carsten Nicolai) were invited by the Baltic Centre For Contemporary Art for a residency. As a result of this project three live performances followed this research period.

All the tracks on this record were recorded live on September 23, 2002 at the Baltic Centre For Contemporary Art in Newcastle, UK.

Gamelan and capoeira in dub. The collective behind this doesn’t like to talk much but their music is beautifully conversational. De Leon is the most organic and percussive of their shifting identities, developed on their Aught project in small-run, clear-shell cassette tape releases over the last few years.

They've appreciated a cult interest for their takes on outernational rhythm, field recording, and the tension and relief on the knife-edge of dance music; all delivered with an impressive commitment to anonymity and clarity of vision through cut-and-dried aesthetic minimalism.

These six pieces of music seem formed from wood, metal, air. Dramatic, balletic flourishes and tightly woven interlocking patterns are embedded in slowly changing and "live" atmospheres. The shadow of a hand over the mixing desk makes gradual adjustments to alter the pressure and dimension of the space.

A number of tracks first appeared on De Leon's set for Blowing Up The Workshop in February 2016.
