Through these four very personal tracks of my first EP, I try to invoke witchcraft as a means of subversion. Since the witch is the ultimate feminist icon because she's a fully rounded symbol of female oppression and liberation. When feminism didn’t exist, witches were already proclaiming everything that feminism has fought for since its birth: free, enlightened women, alone or with their own tools. Utilising enveloping and atmospheric instrumentation as the backdrop to the magical experience, each track represents an individual spell within an exhausting but ultimately empowering transformation.

Today is such a somber day for the underground community. We have lost such amazing artists, and I have no words to express the deep sadness I feel. I've been listening to their discography the entire day, trembling as I remember their music, which has been a huge inspiration to me for the past 10 years. Carmilla Sioux, a DJ and producer based in Barcelona, specializes in dark electronic music, including Dark Wave, EBM, Electro, Industrial, and Dark Techno. With over a decade of experience as a bassist in Post-Punk bands, she gained recognition in the underground scene and has performed alongside artists like Filmmaker and Petra Flurr.

In 2022, she released her debut EP, "Witchcraft," and is currently working on her second EP, "Lumina Obscura," which will be mastered by Nightcrawler and released later this year. Carmilla also organizes “From Hell To Disco” events to promote the local music scene.

Carmilla Sioux es una DJ y productora barcelonesa reconocida como figura clave de la escena electrónica oscura. Su sonido fusiona elementos de Wave, EBM y Techno Industrial, creando un estilo propio que ha cautivado al público underground. Con más de una década como bajista en bandas de post-punk, rápidamente se hizo conocida en la escena underground barcelonesa antes de expandir su alcance internacional.

Con su último EP, Lumina Obscura, Carmilla Sioux irrumpe en Soil Records con una propuesta sonora que explora magistralmente temas alquímicos de transformación, renacimiento y la eterna lucha entre la luz y la sombra. 

Desde 2024, dirige From Hell To Disco, una plataforma que funciona como sello discográfico y centro creativo, fusionando  la selección de podcasts  para artistas emergentes con estéticas similares y la organización de eventos en vivo. Gracias a este proyecto, se ha consolidado como una fuerza impulsora de la comunidad de música electrónica oscura de Barcelona.

Acerca de la mezcla:

Este set, titulado " A la sombra de bellos recuerdos ", es un descenso suave y controlado hacia lo visceral: un viaje sonoro que explora la pérdida a través de la profunda emoción y la honestidad. Es un recorrido por recuerdos que aún arden, deseos que aún persisten y sombras que marcan un antes y un después. No busca respuestas, sólo transformar la ausencia en algo que se pueda sentir y bailar.
