French producer Vici has been steadily carving out his place among drum & bass’s most respected names. Since his debut track “Fight” on True Bass Recordings back in 2017, he has gone on to release across a wide spectrum of influential imprints including Blackout, Eatbrain, Skankandbass, Kosen, and ProgRAM, while also hdelivering high-profile remixes for the likes of Noisia, Audio, and Neonlight. 2025 marked a career milestone with the release of his debut album Flashover on Annix and Simula’s Neksus Sound, which was met with critical acclaim and widespread support.

With a reputation built on uncompromising quality and fearless creativity, it was only a matter of time before Vici caught the attention of the artist-led label Evolution Chamber. Now, the imprint proudly presents his debut single on the label: “Never More / Shades Of Light (feat. īnkūbe)”.

“Never More,” opens with calm, euphoric pads that glide into a melodic bridge, subtly raising tension before erupting into a hard-hitting call-and-response drop that shines a bright light on Vici’s precision and detail in production. The track effortlessly shifts through moods and styles, from the track's powerful first drop into a restrained breakdown, before re-emerging with rolling drum patterns and, finally, an unexpected trip-hop switch that closes the track in striking fashion. It’s a track rooted in creativity, where every movement feels deliberate yet unpredictable.

On the flip, Vici teams up with long-time collaborator and vocalist īnkūbe for “Shades Of Light” which is an expansive, emotionally rich piece that reveals another dimension of his artistry and skillset. Opening with glistening pads and delicate atmospherics, īnkūbe’s vocal enters like a guiding presence, pulling the listener into an uplifting yet deeply moving soundscape. When the drop lands, it strikes a rare balance: powerful and heavy, yet elevated by īnkūbe’s vocal delivery, which adds a charged emotional depth. The second drop switches gears with a powerful half-time crescendo that bursts with euphoria and raw intensity, amplifying the track’s emotional core while driving it to new heights. Each progression builds momentum while maintaining a sense of weightlessness, making “Shades Of Light” feel like a journey through every emotion humanly possible. This collaboration allows both Vici and īnkūbe to shine, merging technical precision with unfiltered emotion in a way that feels both personal and universally resonant.

With Evolution Chamber striving to be a label that refuses to lock itself into one sound within the Neurofunk subgenre, but instead lead with originality, creativity, and artistry, this single stands as a clear example of that ethos in action and reaffirms the label’s integrity and commitment to showcasing forward-thinking talent at the highest level.

Drumcore Vol. 1 marks the return to the producer Alwis. Taking inspiration from iconic video games from the late 1990s — from Wipeout to Jet Set Radio — this EP revives a sense of nostalgia where speed is an aesthetic and original soundtracks are a style in their own right. 
Effective fusion of IDM, drum & bass and breakcore, Alwis plays with the boundaries of percussion within a dense and hyperactive electronic universe. His productions display a disconcerting mastery of the genre which presents itself as a brutal encounter of samples, flows, chords, rhythms and other fluctuations coming from all sides. 
For its part, k:i:o:s:k offers an unrestrained remix that injects dub resonances into a syncopated and fragmented architecture. The deconstruction adds a depth that is faithful to the frenetic energy that runs through the entire release.

Arkan (Ukrainian: Aркан, Aрґан) is a popular dance of the Ukrainian Hutsul people (from Hutsulshchyna, southwestern Ukraine).

The Arkan is traditionally performed around a burning bonfire by the men. The word Arkan also refers to the step that the men perform while dancing around the fire. The step begins with the right foot stepping to the side (or double stamping as the dance builds momentum), the left foot crosses behind, the right foot steps to the side again, and the left foot is hopped in front of the dancer with a bent knee. The dance is performed with the men's arms upon one another's shoulders. In professional Ukrainian dances, however, many variations may accompany this root step.

PROMETHEUS EP -- MAXNRG

RELEASE DATE: 15th JULY 2012

The word "unique" gets bandied about a lot when new artists are being
promoted. MaxNRG, Technique's latest signing, however, deserves that
moniker. Representing Ukraine, he's been a pioneer of the drum and
bass scene in his homeland since the late nineties, and now label
bosses Drumsound and Bassline Smith have lit the fuse that's going to
blow up his reputation worldwide.

From the opening bars of the title track of this EP, "Prometheus",
you can tell there's something different about this producer. Sure,
it's got the dance-demolishing bass and beats that you would expect
from a Technique Recordings release, but it's MaxNRG's melodic sense
that really sets him apart. Twisting Eastern European musicality
around the drum and bass paradigm creates a style that you've really
never heard before.

Then, "Arkan" takes it up another notch, explicitly laying out the
blueprint to MaxNRG's approach. This is unmistakably the sound of
Ukrainian D&B. Traditional folk sounds organically blend into
razor-edge synth-work in a way you wouldn't have thought possible. The
combination of styles melds into a high-energy workout guaranteed to
become a rave anthem.

Next, just to show he's got more than one trick up his sleeve, Max
throws down "Metro 2033 VIP". This is a slice of technoid darkness
designed to show that he can do atmosphere and tension as well as
upbeat melody. Layers of floating pads and percussive sounds dissolve
into a skank-out drop to prove this producer has got all bases covered.

And while he's covering bases, the final track "Sunset of Empire"
covers two in one. He delivers a beautiful film-score panorama of an
intro, and then brutally switches and glitches things up with a
serrated bass-drop.

The "Prometheus EP" is just the beginning of MaxNRG's assault on the
world of D&B as part of the Technique Recordings crew. Any discerning
DJ who hears these tunes will want to be part of that assault too.
Ukranian D&B has planted its flag, and now it's here to stay.
