The Colour of the Sky

Colony of Bees is Beta Radio’s first full length recording in over four years. It marks a subtle departure in style from their celebrated debut Seven Sisters – a record without label support and whose grassroots success was built largely on the back of internet radio stations Pandora and Spotify. The more layered and at times ethereal offerings on Colony Of Bees tread into new territory, but at the same time manage to effortlessly keep one foot firmly rooted in the Americana/folk arena that they have called home for many years.

Kyle McEvoy & Realizer — Late (Daycore)

Carnyces is a dark folk solo project created in 2020 in Glasgow during study at the Riverside Music College. It consists of its founder, Anna McLaughlin and hired session musicians - fellow Riverside students. Debut Song "Widdershins" premiers on the 19th March 2021 across major digital platforms and features a sample of ancient Celtic instrument, Carnyx, sampled with permission from a performance by an acclaimed trombonist John Kenny, Kent Murray on drums and Kirsten Forsyth on fiddle. The inspiration behind the project lies within deep fascination with Scotland and its rich cultural heritage, mystical landscape, local lore, and Celtic mythology. Musically soaked in traditional song, Carnyces draws its lyrical content  from timeless folklore and superstition that transcends into modern times.
