The Message by Carol Fieldhouse 2020

This collaboration came about through meeting Mohammadreza Behjat (Rey)at Derbyshire Refugee Solidarity. We recorded the song in our own homes during lockdown! The very rough tracks were mixed and mastered by the wonderful Chris Pepper at Saltwell Studios, Cambridgeshire. We hope to make a studio recording for my next album.

The song was written after a huge snowstorm covered many parts of the Middle East in March 2012. I saw a photo in the newspaper of desert sand dunes covered in snow and camels padding through the snowfall. At the front of the image was a man in white robes and a heavy coat; he was standing by the road next to his car catching snowflakes.
