Born in Brazil, raised in Cologne and based in Berlin, Dominique Dillon de Byington, aka Dillon, has always had a clear vision of her art. She already has two albums under her belt, and she actually regards these as part of the same work, since they tell a coherent story. This has always been apparent in her live shows, which are carried by a magical interchange between the dark-melodic songs of both albums. When the Berlin Foreign Affairs Festival asked her, in 2015, to develop a unique concert idea, she decided on a performance with a sixteen-piece women’s choir, which accompanied her and Tamer Fahri Özgönenc, her collaborator and co-producer of her first two albums, in the live performance at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele in July 2015. “I felt the need to work with voices and to create an additional layer that breathes in this space between the electronic music and myself. I was very attracted to this idea, so Tamer Fahri and I wrote and arranged the choir parts together,” Dillon explains. The choir injects a new physical layer into her music, which is dominated by piano and electronic sounds, and her own voice dances longingly in this space. The about to be released live recordings of the concert reveal just how naturally this new element slots into her dramatically minimal music. “When I started writing my last album, The Unknown, I knew it was the continuation of This Silence Kills in terms of both music and content. Now the two albums are being brought together as a release, as well as in the live shows. For me, this album could be called This Silence Kills The Unknown, the 28-year-old reveals. A film of the concert at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele is being released alongside the live album. And in 2017 this will be followed by a third studio album, this time entirely separate from the works that came before, which Dillon herself describes as an “album of love”.

Poso Lypamai is track no. 9 in our first album 'Imam Baildi' (2007). Samples come from the homonymous 1930's track sung by Sofia Vembo. The track was originally a valse, but we used a 4/4 hiphop beat and added some instrumental parts.

As a little girl Carol C spent many hours playing with her portable record player. She loved watching records spin. She also loved making mixtapes of her favorite music that played on the radio. Introduced to the world of DJ’ing by her older brother, she spent years admiring his record collection and staring at his Technics 1200’s (which she wasn’t allowed to touch).  Being kept away from them made her want to one day own her own. After graduating from college she decided to give it a go. Her first DJ gig was at Irving Plaza, 4 months after buying her Technics 1200 turntables. She then hosted an all female DJ party called ‘Funktion” at a place called ‘Anseo’ on St. Mark’s St. in New York for a year. After the success of ‘Funktion’ Carol C became a resident of Drum & Bass party ‘Direct Drive’. Through this opportunity she had the pleasure of playing alongside world renowned DJ’s like LTJ Bukem, Roni Size, DJ Krust, DJ Rap, Ed Rush & Optical as well as many others.  

She held a five-year residency at both the Soho and Tribeca Grand Hotels in NYC. She also held a one-year residency at Millesime in the Carlton Hotel (NY) and a one-year residency at the W Hotel Downtown. She has DJ’ed special events for clients such as Calvin Klein, Ann Taylor, Diane Von Furstenberg, Levi’s, Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue, Sephora, Rimmel London, Conde Nast, Trace Magazine, BIG Magazine, and NY Festivals.  

Carol has played at places such as Lotus, Boulevard, Highline Ballroom, Irving Plaza, Bowery Ballroom, Water Taxi Beach, The Frying Pan, S.O.B's, Bar 13, Cielo, Marquee, Bed, Paradou, APT, The Delano Hotel (Miami), The Standard Hotel (SF), Hotel Vitale (SF), Zanzibar (LA), The Conga Room (LA), and The House of Blues (LA) to name a few.  

She has DJ’ed for crowds all over the U.S. as well as in London, Vienna, Reykjavik, Copenhagen, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Venezuela, Brazil, Toronto, and Montreal.
