Knowing the vulture, it's time that we fly. Knowing the culture, it's time that we dine. Now we fly. Wings spread out beside us, underneath the cypress. Fly. Rain falls softly on the trees. Our crops are full this time.

Knowing The Vulture

I wrote this song, based on the poem "Do not stand at my grave and weep" by Mary Elizabeth Frye, around 2011-2012, while living in Baltimore, Maryland. I later learned the poet also lived in Baltimore in 1932 when she wrote her work. I thought that was kind of neat.
