birthname is a metamorphosis of the previously eponymous musical project of caro. 

building on several contributions to Bristol's forward thinking label Limbo Tapes and appearances at a variety of festivals across north america including Mutek, Bass Coast and Active Passive, birthname (fka caro) has distilled a highly textural, loop-oriented style of composition. 
smoked-out sequencing combines with faded percussion. field recordings nod ceremoniously into sub-infused harmonics. & technical considerations yield to a refined attunement to the aesthetic quality of sound. 

behind the decks weekly, then monthly since 2018, birth name hosts The Tea on B.Side radio in Vancouver, BC and collaborates with Emrrld on the project Lamps. 

their most recent album Nods of Infinite Tenderness was released independently in 2023.
