One of Atlantic Canada’s most respected and followed techno DJ/Producers, his influence on underground music scene has touched and inspired so many producers and DJs over the course of  the past quarter century.  He began his journey in 1991 where a tragic car accident almost took his life.  While in hospital, he has a dream playing music on stage, interacting with people and getting them to dance…  Originally from London, England and inspired by cinematic masterpieces and producers such as Art of Noise, New Order, Depeche Mode, Future Sounds of London, Yello and the great Giorgio Moroder, he began to realize his calling.  He bought turntables and connected with record pools in Toronto and Halifax and the Secret Music Club in the UK.  In 1998 he entered and won DJ competitions in Halifax, NS and Charlottetown, PEI.  Over the years his name grew in popularity gaining shows across Canada with interests in the US, Europe and Brazil.   In 2016, BERLIN TECHNO SESSIONS, VOL. 6 signed his remix of Trilingo - Luzoba Charife Remix, gaining international attention with the techno community.  In 2018 he continued releasing melodic, progressive techno tracks working with the talented Ben Rama and Techgnosis Records.  His Notations Series mixes have gained much attention with continual support and momentum building for 2019. 

His passion for music is strong as he states, “Music is more than just listening pleasure; it’s an experience, a journey one must venture from all walks of life, pulling deep from within the truth of life, past, present, and future! Music can make one understand who they are and what they wish to achieve.” Through this format, Charife delivers a story to lets people experience openness and freedom to let loose to explore his vision through sound… His mixes are experiences!  Those who have heard him, return for more, those who experience him for the first time get pulled into a hypnotic state that keeps them wanting more…  a musical story if you will, drawing emotion deep into the music.

‘Epiphany’ continues to excite us with a captivating fusion of genres with its seductive rolling techno bassline, hypnotic psy sounds, warm grooves and an overrall uplifting vibe.

The bushfires that ravaged our home of Australia between September 2019 - February 2020 are one of the most savage and disastrous natural events that the country has ever known.

Over 25.5 million hectares of land were burnt (110,000+ square kilometres), 3000+ homes destroyed, 30 people and more than 1 billion mammals, birds and reptiles died.

100% of the proceeds from each sale of Bushfire Aid VA Series Part 1 and Part 2 will officially go directly to the Australian Wildlife Conservency’s Bushfire Response Campaign, as they work tirelessly in the field to protect numerous species of animals that are now endangered and threatened due to the bushfire season disaster of 2019/20.

Upon donating, aside from the music you will also receive a pdf file from AWC themselves with specifics on the Bushfire Response Campaign that you will be supporting with your donation.

Bassic Records has banded together 34 of Australia’s best electronic music producers to create the Bushfire Aid VA Series - 27 tracks, across 2 albums, spanning deep melancholic electronica and house, through to dark and emotive progressive techno. Not one of us is unaffected by this disaster, be it directly, emotionally or chord struck within our soul.

Everyone involved in this release has donated their time and skills to this cause. Israeli physicist/engineer, One Million Toys, propels us into the unfamiliar with The Box EP. From start to finish of this journey we’re confronted with cleverly constructed contrasts. Compositionally, we’re sent into orbit with euphoric builds-ups then hurtled back to earth with knife-edge drops. Texturally, it’s torn between the overtly digital and the soothingly organic. Overall, it’s a compelling mix of synth-techno, house and electronica that will coax you into a timeless abyss, matched perfectly with Unknown Concept's (AUS) profoundly elevated remix of the title track.
