Carrot Lights is a trio from Estonia that combines styles of jazz, pop and free improvisation. The members of the band are very active in the Estonian music scene with different bands and collectives. Joel-Rasmus Remmel (piano) and Kaspar Kalluste (drums) have received the Young Talent Jazz Award and are the most wanted young players in Estonia at the very moment. They have also played with different musicians from abroad including Kurt Elling, Jussi Kannaste, etc. Paula Mustikas aka Laura Remmel (voice) has released three pop albums and a jazz standard album, which was given out in Japan last spring. At the moment she has been focusing more on free improvisation, which she has been studying in Arnhem, the Netherlands and also in Estonia. In that field her collaboration with the Dutch drummer Han Bennink has been very inspirational for both sides and due to that they have concerts coming up this year in Amsterdam.
