Latin maestro Cato Anaya is dropping his Latin-inspired hit ‘Guantanamera’ this Friday, as he brings a South American flavour to the new groove anthem, which is sure to prove a massive floor-filler this summer. 

Responsible for percussive perfection such as Kryder collaboration ‘La Cumbiambera’, the Colombian has once again struck gold on the release, which showcases tribal chord patterns and a sweet rhythmic hook.

Best known for becoming the first artist of this genre to be signed to Sony, Cato has since enjoyed a meteoric rise, performing at various events, including ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event) and amassing a truly global fanbase on account of his powerful production prowess and unique signature sound. 

Now moving up through the hierarchy of Cartel, Cato has been responsible for heading up the rebirth of the label, with fans and listeners quick to praise the high standard of production calibre found on the imprint, which has garnered a reputation for toe-tapping dance-induced beats of the most supreme level.

Welcoming Les Castizos to the label after a 3-year hiatus, the return of Cartel promises to herald the dawn of a new future packed with more of the finest music from the worlds of tribal and latin groove.

Filling ‘African Voice’ with a hip-swaying rhythm and funky frenetic basslines, the zippy chords of the piece instantly get you moving ahead of what promises to prove a real dancefloor favourite. Adding a skittering of soulful elements to the single, the return of Cartel is a huge moment in the overall music landscape, with many sectors of the electronic scene clamouring for the label’s return during the course of the past triplet of years.

Made up of Fali Sotomayor and Victor Roldan, Les Castizos are the
Malaga-based duo best known for their impeccable mixes and vibrant live sets.
With ‘African Voices’ signalling the 2020 re-birth of ‘The Cartel’ , Kryder is now heading up the operation alongside his co-producer and good friend, Cato Anaya, host of Cartel Radio, who added: “We are working hard on having at least five to six releases this year! We are signing music as we speak! I have teased some exclusive Cartel music from my buddies in Spain Les Castizos in the first episode. Banger of a track! We need in the long run to make this movement of artists, fans, and music something truly massive. We have such a rich musical background in our culture and its unique flavor in each country. I think the vessel to take these beautiful sounds to the world is definitely dance music.”

Already supported by the likes of Dash Berlin, ‘La Manguelena’ is finally set to see the light of day after featuring in Kryteria Radio as early as April 2020. Since then, the track has become a firm fan’s favourite and is now set for release on Kryder’s ‘Cartel’ label this Friday! 

An exuberant production filled with a high-energy melody, the track channels the rhythmic groove-house feel we’ve come to expect from the Cartel imprint, with ‘La Manguelena’ bringing full Latin spice to the South American-inspired dancefloor destroyer. 

Achieving early career success with ‘Higher’ on Sony Music, BLUCKTHER’s since received support from the likes of David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Hardwell, and Axwell, with artists such as Don Diablo, Steve Aoki, Diplo, and Afrojack all dropping his massive anthems on iconic stages such as Tomorrowland, Ultra Miami, and Encore in Las Vegas.

Teaming up with Sebastien Reza on ‘La Manguelena’, the latter has amassed a wealth of support from some of the underground’s biggest names, including Dubfire, and Steve Lawler. Often accredited as a dynamic and visionary performer behind the wheels of steel, his dark grooves have also featured in Mark Knight’s ‘Toolroom’ compilations. The release of ‘La Manguelena’ marks the latest in the long line of collaborations between both artists, with BLUCKTHER and Sebastien Reza also working together on tracks like ‘Deeper Love’, ‘Never Gonna Be’, and ‘Hollywood’.

With Colombian superstar Alex Hoing completing the ‘La Manguelena’ trident, the Bogota-based producer’s newest anthem follows his 2019 European tour, where he shared stages with the likes of Carl Cox, Steve Angello, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, and Laidback Luke. Making a name for himself during the course of his 14-year DJ career, the tech-house performer was even named ‘DJ of the year 2018’ in his native country.
