One day, Doctor Octave, while trying to find the brown note in his music lab, accidentally opened a portal to a realm where sound is used as a weapon. Out of the portal popped Professor Robot, a government-engineered sonic death machine from beyond the 12th dimension. Together, they formed Cartoon Violence, an alliance of maximum musical justice, on a mission to destroy bad music and populate the universe with Awesomeness.

Though sometimes they have been joined by live bassists and drummers, most of their music consists of guitar and keyboards played over backing tracks made with phones, Casios, and GameBoys.
