Being one of the first people to get a close listen to Quasimojo's first release is an honour indeed. I sometimes feel like I've been able to witness the birth of a child and have watched it grow from a useless drooling blob of flesh into a very talented musician (that drools). Acoustic Coupler is not a techno album. It's not a dance album. It's not experimental, or acid, or hip hop. It's more of a journey through the brain of a crazy man who calls himself Quasimojo. Trying to classify Acoustic Coupler into any sub genre would be heresy. Saying whether the album is good or not good is subjective. If you like bizarre drum interludes, melodic and beatiful chords, more effected samples and sounds then you could dream of, listening to quasi's voice mail messages, and trying to figure out what he was thinking when he came up with song names like 'manu agarri cochi' and 'hotel ice (tastes better)', then this album should be on your 'BUY ME NOW LIST'. Take a sprinkle of Aphex Twin, a dash of Beck, and host of a dozen other experimental and techno artists and you have Quasimojo. It's really hard to compare him to any one artist because he's one of the few artists out there that definitly has a sound of his own. But how's the album ryan? It's great! Beatiful songs like 'manu', 'the gay' and 'phart noquer' are offset with experimental interludes like 'hotel ice', 'jetlag' and 'spencer cant breath'. Over all it's an amazing album that can't really be compared to anything else. You'll just have to take my word for it when i say it's an amazing piece of work. Just make sure you're sitting down and LISTENING to it when you listen to this album. It's NOT driving music. Or the kind of thing you'd be wanting to listen to if you we're trying to work or read a book. You may feel that some songs go over the top, but in its entirity after listening to it a few times it will all make sense and so will the rest of the world maybe. :)

"Quasimojo stole the show with a gratifying set of milder, refined electronic treasures that were reminiscent of the group "mu-ziq." Their mid-tempo rodeo synths bucked along the backs of stuttered-drumming torrents. Regardless of tempo, their songs shoot profusely with the aid of some unbelievably charismatic vibes. Frequently, silly melodies from an imaginary children's program were delightfully introduced. Whether Quasimojo is in his "casual" or "freaking" mode, the aural elations were endless."
