Having already geared up for the release of their long-awaited third studio album later this year, electronic outfit Ishi have now returned to unveil the new Yuksek remix for their latest captivating single ‘Not My Girl’.

Continuing the smooth and groove-filled aesthetic they are known for, Yuksek now adds his own distinct direction to this bold and vibrant cut. Keeping the fresh and soulful sound of the original and reworking it with a light yet uplifting texture gives this new offering an exciting new feel that only these two could have pulled off. Yuksek has had releases on labels like: Razor-n-tape, Sweat it out, Classic music, Glitterbox, and also run his own label Partyfine. As a true studio addict, he has collaborated with major artists such as Gorillaz, Phoenix, UGOD, Lana Del Rey, JD Samson, Gossip, Moby, The Magician, Alex Metric, Clara Luciani.

Ishi is a high energy electronic band from Dallas, TX with influences of soul, funk, and folk to electro, techno and house. They thrive on creating a positive atmosphere that allows their audience to let loose & express themselves.

Fans have been waiting eight long years for the next album and is expected to drop in Autumn 2021 under Swedish Indie Label Icons Creating Evil Art, the home of Flora Cash, Summer Heart, and Glamour Hammer. It will be titled ‘Sweet Gold’ and feature the hit singles ‘Not My Girl’ and ‘Lo-Fi Love Affair’. This record can only be described as an infusion of funk and soul with a touch of electronic production. A true journey in time through music and some of the greatest musicians in the world.

Ishi’s ability to successfully walk the line between an ambitious studio act and a multi-sensory live experience allows them to engage their audiences in an uplifting celebration of life. Their subtle undertones of inner-exploration combine to create a concert experience that is unequivocally one-of-a-kind. Both sleek and polished in its figure, and crisp and sweet with its style, Peace of Mind is a soaring pop/funk anthem, deep-rooted in glistening disco,  which was written, recorded, and produced at their home studios during the UK lockdown. 

The song’s narrative touches on finding ‘Peace of Mind’. Whether this is a post-breakup song or a coming-of-age song is entirely up to the listeners interpretation. Either way, This is an important message to convey whilst we find the world is currently going through ‘the age of anxiety’.

I want the listener to feel hopeful that we can find a way to get through even if it’s just for the duration of the song.”
