At the moment Casanora is working on new music. Before this is released next year, the Bernese drops the track "Sneaky Magma". The song connects the previous work of the producer with the spirit of the new music - but stands free and detached from everything.

When the magma chamber is full and cannot hold any more material, the hot magma makes its way to freedom. It glowing from the ground - the volcano erupts.

Casanora & One Instrument. Casanora is a sound designer and multimedia artist. She has a Bachelor's degree in Sound Arts and a Master's degree in Contemporary Arts Practice; in 2020 she won the Demotape Clinic Award at the M4Music Festival in Zurich, and in 2021 she received an award from the Musikförderung Bern for her track "No Surprise". In 2016, Grand River aka Aimée Portioli kicked off One Instrument the record label where she releases sound experiments from different artists composing pieces by using only one instrument, challenging and limiting each of the artists in producing a composition by using only this one instrument of their choice. “Year 2022” is the 7th annual Various Artists release.

To celebrate the two-year anniversary of the Zentralwäscherei in Zurich, we teamed up with the local club "Pluto" and played the festival's Listening Floor for three days.

After the emergence of last year's diverse 12 track various artist album, Codonopsis, we are stoked to be back with our second VA release - Rumex. What awaits you this time are another 14 uncompromising tracks from artists based within and beyond Swiss ground - a project that has taken shape quite literally from all over the globe in more ways than one. Musically, it spans wide from ambient to experimental, noise, electro, breaks and techno - inviting you into an introspective, eerie kind of realm without losing the groove that pushes you right back out again. On a personal and collective level, it's been an intense year with a heavy dose of pain and suffering, Rumex leans into this melancholia, journeying between the light and the dark in what can only be explained as a sonic catharsis.

Casanora lives in Bern and in different dream worlds.
 
She has fantasised this whimsical, self-confident electronic music in
mischievous complicity with her computer, moving somnambulistically safely,
captain of the barge, from one place to another: between club and parlour,
ship's belly and upper deck, hesitation and decision. When the fog rolls in,
Casanora's quiet joy is apparent; when the storm comes, it's probably 
her doing.
Experiencing Casanora live is a bit like being allowed to sink into the wild
imagination of a good witch.
