The almighty DESOLAT return with a compilation that could kick any year into place thats for sure. The Düsseldorf based label have certainly set the pace for 15 by curating a wide range of acts for their VA series.

The release certainly covers some scope. Then again, what else would you expect from this widely praised and appreciated label? Yet it’s safe to safe that each of these tracks hold a hell of a lot of weight and certainly lead the way for most discerning dancefloors.

To comment and highlight some of the unmissables tracks from this release I would certainly have to start with Alexander Ivkovic’s ‘B70’. What a track indeed. Fast paced, deep, intelligent and impossible to ignore. ‘Believe In Something’ by Lewis Boardman is a classic deliverance of fine house music. ‘Octave’ by Santé is an impossible track to ignore without a doubt that could own any club. Then again, it’s hard to narrow anything down as they all a worth the money.

This label always manages to come up trumps. That’s why they are so highly praised around the world. They lead the way when it comes to making proper house and techno and they seem to do it with such ease, working with a trusted range of established and up and coming talent around. This is just more proof of that.

The X-Sampler comes as a 2×12“ package with eight tracks, plus a download code that gives the buyer those eight tracks in digital format, plus another six digital tracks. In keeping with tradition it features a combination of artists who have already graced Desolat before and artists who make their debut on the label.

Miss Kittin is an artist who needs no introduction. Already an established artist in the house and techno scene for almost two decades, she has brought her one of a kind voice to countless solo projects and collaborations over the years. Now Miss Kittin returns to Mobilee as part of the ten-year anniversary celebration with a fresh EP with Nicolas Masseyeff titled "June." The southern French guy is a longtime pal of Miss Kittin, famous for his vast studio talent and sound signature, having previously released on other internationally acclaimed labels such as Suara, Tsuba and Noir among others. The four-track EP features three brand new tracks and two dubs of the title track. Each track is crafted perfectly for the dance floor. Simplicity meets groovy emotional feeling. Mark Jenkyns and Christopher Sylvester have joined forces as 12 Stories to release the heavy duty ‘Night Obscure EP’ on Hot Creations. The EP features two original and unique no nonsense club weapons plus an equally solid remix from Bunte Bummler.

On the A-side, the acid induced ‘Showtime’ uses a sample from a ghetto fight to aptly fit the name of the track. After spending a lot of time in the studio and using numerous bits of Roland gear, the second track ‘Night Obscure’ finally came together when Mark’s neighbour spontaneously sang a French poem for the the vocals. No stranger in the Hot Creations camp Bunte Bummler uses the vocals to full effect over deep chugging percussions, while keeping hold of the sonic energy that flows through the EP.

This release is their first original output as 12 Stories and paves the way for much more to come including releases on VIVa and Leftroom. Originally from South Shields, Mark Jenkyns has enjoyed a series of well received releases on Hot Creations, Hot Waves, Crosstown Rebels and Dogmatik. Christopher Sylvester under his Inxec alias has released on a wealth of labels including Contexterior, Last Night on Earth, Leftroom, Get Physical, Culprit and Crosstown Rebels.

Mannheim natives Bunte Bummler aka Fabian Winkels and Manuel Vobis met 12 years ago in the graffiti scene, although several years would pass before they joined together to produce and DJ. Releases have appeared on the likes of Hot Trax, Recovery Tech, Deep Tech Records, Viva Music, Leone, Defected and Cecile.
