Finishing off a superb year for the Kollektives Bewusstsein podcasts, we were gifted a truly special contribution from @jane-ule. Her uniquely weird slow disco sound has been enthralling us for a while now, and this mix does not disappoint: warm, a bit moody, a bit cheesy, and very elegantly blended together. Other words, "wohltemperiert".

Kollektives Bewusstsein Podcast 038 - jane ulé

Menschen unterhalten sich des öfteren über unterschiedliche Themen. Es soll vorkommen, dass der präferierte Musikgeschmack eines dieser Themen ist. Wenn ich für meine Teil dann unter anderem aber speziell "Deutschrap" anführe bemerke ich manchmal eine leicht unterschwellig irritierte Mimik. Manchmal kommt auch nur die Gegenfrage "Sowas wie Straßenbande 187?" oder "so Assi-Mutterf***er-Rap?". Komisch..wenn ich sage ich höre Techno, fragen die Leute mich auch nicht "David Guetta?" 

Ordentlich straffen Battlerap oder gut gelaunten sarkastischen Assi-Rap schätze ich sehr, jedoch kann Rap mehr. Von kritischen politischen Texten über gutes Storrytelling bis hin zu romantischen Gedichten..nur eben auf rund 90 BPM. Was wohl passiert wäre, hätte man Goethe, Schiller oder Brecht eine MPC 2000 in die Hand gedrückt?

Er ist ein leidenschaftlicher Vinylsammler und fühlt sich heimisch im Bereich Hip Hop, Soul und Funk. Die Dynamik und Vielfalt seiner Musik macht sein Set zu etwas einzigartigem und bietet für viele Ohren bezaubernde Melodien. Da es diese allerdings heute nicht mehr alle auf Vinyl gibt, hat sich Kurrt in diesem Tape erstmalig an einer Kombination aus Digital und Vinyl ausprobiert.

It's time to dive deeper into ourselves, exploring our inner depths, giving up some of our outer addictions, desires and comforts that might be causing damage to ourselves and other creatures we share this beautiful planet with. Maybe there are some old artefacts from the past that need to excavated, restored, released. Don't worry, we'll learn to breathe underwater. We’ll learn to become like seaweed, flexible to the currents of life, and make it look like we're dancing.

Atop the ocean surface, things seem choppy and chaotic. Riding the waves is sometimes fun and thrilling, and other times treacherous and terrifying. As we recount the joys and sorrows of the ocean, we notice it's a wheel that never stops turning. Maybe we can travel deep enough to touch our own inner stillness, the great aquatic wonderland, the holy peace; that timeless, weightless, oceanic feeling, where the sunlight pierces through, casting a shimmering jig of light and colour.
