For our 1st club music release of 2014 we teamed up with Baltimore's top producer and DJ, Say Wut. Club music is a worldwide phenomenon and we've been championing some of the best and most forward-thinking ghetto sounds over the years. This 4 track release of real club music will satisfy even the more discerning DJ with Say Wut's hard hitting drums and signature dark horns.

The right person to tell us more about Say Wut is Scottie B, the boss Unruly Records and legendary DJ from Baltimore:

Talk to any Baltimore native and they will give you names of Baltimore DJs such as K-Swift, Rod Lee, DJ Technics and King Tutt, just to name a few. But there is one name that rings out every time one of his tracks are played. From Baltimore to London S-s-s-Say-Wut; a Baltimore native, who has been making music scream at his listeners with hard hitting base, cutting sounds, and various instruments (especially horns) all comprising his energy filled music.

A celebrity in Baltimore, producer/DJ Say Wut began making Baltimore Club beats at the age of 17 with a PC and a low budget, he took his music to the DJs in local clubs and they began to spin these tunes and got instant reaction out of audiences city wide. He found his music quickly played in mixes on Baltimore’s "WERQ 92Q Jams" with other local producers such as Rod Lee, K.W. Griff and Blaqstarr.

As co-owner of Horsemen Entertainment, LLC, Say-Wut rocks parties all over the US expanding his name, company, and talent.. He is a producer for Baltimore based Unruly Records, Top Billin, Mad Decent, Man Recordings and many more labels. 

It is without any doubt that this producer, DJ and artist has heart, soul and respect for not just his own music but all types. You can expect the unexpected when it comes from Say-Wut. Baltimore’s music community is familial in the truest sense of the word. And within that community, you’ll find unofficial teams of artists who understand that their best material tends to comes from working together rather than going solo.

Hands Up! is the latest of these Baltimorean collaborations. And they’ve delivered the most stunning team effort releases we’ve heard come out of Charm City since Scottie B, King Tutt & Shawn Caesar’s Chavy Boys records nearly a decade ago. Hands Up! is the double barrelled powerhouse of Michael J.R. and Mighty Mark, but their debut KXNG feels far bigger than two producers.

KXNG captures the city’s frustration, swagger, beauty, and hope. All through a narrative that permeates thru four stunning songs. And, in true collaborative fashion, every song on KXNG enlists various artists of Baltimore’s seemingly endless pool of talent.

With the optimistic opener “Superstar”, Hands Up! immediately flips any preconception that KXNG is just another a Baltimore Club record. Lor J.R.’s luscious R&B hook is perfectly accentuated by Corie Little’s lyrical witticisms that punctuate each verse. Next comes the club monster that is “KXNG” — a barrage of club horns and 808s booming beneath the roaring vocals of Baltimore party starter, Mike-Mike ZOME.

The industrial-meets-club style of “Blaze The Floor” shows just how far Hands Up! and TT the Artist can take this city’s style. KXNG closes beautifully with a the club-influenced track introspective entitled “Free”, which offers a silky, sexy sound that could only have come from the clubs of Baltimore. And could only be narrated by the lovely, talented Miz Jaxxxn.

This EP will certainly satisfy those itching for the progressive Bmore Club sound that Mighty Mark has become known for — and that Michael J.R. has quietly been establishing. But, make no mistake, now that these two powerhouse producers have teamed up, there’s no telling where they’ll push the genre. Watch out world, Hands Up! has arrived.
