In this episode of Adversity Quotient, Guest speaker CASIS Vancouver President Candyce Kelshall discusses the new nature of security as we move through the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. 

Speaker bio: Candyce is a seasoned, in-theater operational director and has worked extensively with militaries and advising police forces around the world as well as designing and delivering training to specialist units.

She is a former senior diplomat who is comfortable liaising with governments and operating at all levels within parliamentary and military contexts. She has taught vocational (police, law enforcement, military and intelligence) as well as academic programs in over 17 countries. She has been teaching in a university professional program context for the last 10 years.

From 1983 to 2001 he was employed as a senior multilingual analyst at Communications Security Establishment (CSE – Canada’s signals intelligence agency), specializing in the Middle East.

In this episode of Adversity Quotient, Colum Price and Nancy Mireles discuss what is needed to create accountable and trustworthy police services and how police officers  across the globe could better serve their communities. 

Speaker bio: Colum Price is a police advisor at Royal Brunei Police Force. He is a former Police Superintendent working predominantly in London for the British Transport Police. During his career he was involved in some of the most complex investigations and incidents the Police service had to deal with. Colum was part of the enquiry team for the Kings cross fire disaster in 1987. He also attended several scenes for the IRA bomb attacks on mainland UK, and was a public order commander in riots in central London and around the country. He managed the movement of Nuclear materials around the UK by rail, and in 2005, he was the scene commander for the Edgeware Road Bomb during the 7/7 attacks.
