 William Cockerham Jr. was born September 12, 1981 in New Orleans, La. Raised in the ghetto of New Orleans which had the second murder rate in the country at the time Casonova was determined to make it out. He was encouraged to become a rapper by his cousin the Grammy nominated rap artist "Mystikal" while waiting for "Mystikal" to get his own record label off the ground Casonova was set back after "Mystikal" was sent to prison. While waiting for him to be released from jail, Casonova continue writing and recording and doing shows. And in 2005 Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans where he and many were displaced with no place to call home. Once this happen Nova relocated to Washington D.C. with everything that happened all he had was his music and his faith in God. After searching clubs for open mic shows he started to beat the pavement to promote his music and created a huge buzz. Then in 2008 Casonova got in a little trouble of is own and was sent to prison and was released in 2011, now still in D.C. and unsigned, Nova is ready to show the world that he hasn't lost it and talent runs in the family.
