My dear friends

I am happy to share my live recordings of one of the most magical night of my career so far.
I was invited to play in Oaxaca, Mexico together with Acid Pauli during 'Day of the dead' on 31st of oct 2015.
We played in some kind of old spanish church in the middle of the night. Because it was ‘the day of the death’ everybody was dressed like skelletons. They painted me as my dog Rivaldo, that passed away 3 months ago.
You can imagine playing in Mexico in a temple, on the day of the dead, with Acid Pauli, in front of Skelletons, while I was painted like my Rivaldo (and Martin had some kind of Jezus outfit) was pretty magical.

So I am excited to share with you the live recordings of this night.
I want to thank Mariana, ALKEMY and gem&bolt party w/ guest mezcal Amores and Meteoro to set up this night.
And all the people who came to show: you really made that temple come alive again!!

With a waterleak just before start one turntable's pitch stopped working so it's a bit messy set but I think the fun get caught in the recording. What a MF night!

Call Super is the primary moniker of Joseph Richmond Seaton, a DJ and musician from London who has carved out his own place in the landscape of electronic music. Defined by a meticulous approach to the composition, production, art direction and presentation of his work, every release encapsulates Joseph’s idiosyncratic vision. It is a colourful world that gives life to the shadows and throws a mist over the boundaries that have become so commonplace in electronic music.

His record The Present Tense provided the launching point for Houndstooth (the label arm of London’s fabric nightclub). The following two releases, Black Octagons and Depicta/Acephale, cemented his status as one of the brightest new talents to emerge in the current wave of producers disturbing the musical landscape. Next up came Suzi Ecto, his debut album, which was widely regarded as one of the standout long players of 2014. Described by Pitchfork as one of “the most evocative sound worlds that the genre has seen” it featured in many annual polls from WIRE magazine to Resident Advisor, topping those at XLR8R and Juno Plus.

Alongside his work as Ondo Fudd for influential label The Trilogy Tapes, his collaboration with Beatrice Dillon for Hessle Audio and two releases for Dekmantel, he has been compared to Ricardo Villalobos, Jon Hassell and Brian Eno. His second LP Arpo arrived in 2017 and was greeted to similar praise to his first, with The Guardian hailing it as “outstanding” and DJ magazine naming it Album of the Year.

This all stands alongside Seaton’s revered work as a DJ. His esteemed entry into the Fabric mix CD canon “brought to mind one of Salvador Dali’s famous clock faces—at almost every quarter-hour a tactile shift takes place, where sounds seem to melt away, revealing a strange new psychic space.” [Pitchfork]. This deft ability to craft sets known for their hypnotic intensity and musical breadth has brought him across the world and been recently showcased on BBC Radio 1’s The Essential Mix. His versatility is seen in the range of his schedule, from headline slots at Sónar festival’s 25th anniversary in Barcelona, to his regular appearances at the Golden Pudel, Hamburg’s famous sweatbox and Berlin’s Panorama Bar. He is a natural musical communicator pushing on in his own world, a world that has guided Call Super outwards and upwards.

Chuang Tzu was a philosopher in ancient China, who, one night went to sleep and dreamed that he was a butterfly. He dreamt that he was flying around from flower to flower and while he was dreaming he felt free, blown about by the breeze hither and thither. He was quite sure that he was a butterfly. But when he awoke he realised that he had just been dreaming, and that he was really Chuang Tzu dreaming he was a butterfly. But then Chuang Tzu asked himself the following question: "was I Chuang Tzu dreaming I was a butterfly or am I now really a butterfly dreaming that I am Chuang Tzu?"

miss you

I was taking over from @d_o_h playing before me, it starts at quite a high intensity without an intro, compared to how I usually want to build-up. But a few tracks in, we start floating down, float float, down the stream.. letting the river show the way.

Just a spontaneous session without a plan, really happy with the progression though. Some new tracks, but mostly ones that I've played quite a lot, but never put together in a story by style like this before. Enjoy y'all!
