Ervin Omsk is a pseudonym of Germany-based musician and visual artist Sven Fritz.
His music is based on a spatial approach, using oscillators, percussion, speech, fragments, noise, and many other sources to approximate a sense of texture and terrain through sound.
Ervin Omsk has released on International Winners and Orange Milk Records. The last album Schmalster Point was released in 2023 by Orange Milk.
About the mix:
A compilation of music, most of which I have listened to recently when walking or taking the train. The mix has become quite heterogeneous, so for me, it’s constantly oscillating between the music's own spaces and the associative environments a lot of
the tracks are unfolding again and again (surprisingly often using artificial forms of human voices or gestures).

Growing up in Thailand’s art scenes during one of the country’s most politically unstable periods, Pisitakun Kuantalaeng kicked off his practice as a visual artist in 2009, essentially focused on political speculations and frustrations. Thailand’s 2010 Red Shirt protests and the government crackdown solidified his approach as a permanent critical thinker and artist. 

Pisitakun’s interest in music started to increase. He began to experiment with how sonic expressions take shape under different media environments.

Pisitakun’s practice represents a decisive break from many of his Thai peers: he questions fundamental and increasingly global values without merely decrying the fact of corruption or offering neat palliatives.

Spurred on by the acuteness of current global events, we are raising our voices in solidarity with the oppressed, the tortured, the silenced, and the unheard. While humanity is at stake, and our values are on trial, in moments of despair, rage and endless grief, acts of solidarity are needed more than ever. The events that shake Palestine and Israel are resulting in an ever-tighter spiral of violence and desperation. They are a horrific wake-up call that brutally brings the precarious situation on our planet to the fore. The humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, and Israel’s collective punishment of Palestinian civilians are intolerable. On top of that, the military actions threaten the lives of the remaining hostages in the Gaza-Strip, and even more innocent people in Gaza.

Listening is not neutral.
Listening shapes the reality we live in.
Listening is shaped by ethics and politics and leads back to it.
Listening is directly linked to memory and identity.
Listening is as important as speaking.
Listing is an active act.

El Jardín de las Matemáticas (The Garden of Mathematics) was written and recorded by Alvaro Daguer (Glorias Navales/A Full Cosmic Sound/ETCS Records), Pablo Picco (Bardo Todol/Bolinga Everest Records), Tomás Salvatierra (Glorias Navales) and Mark Harwood (Penultimate Press).

Utilising Chinese drum, ocarina, shakers, flutes, whistles, violin, bells, acoustic guitar, gongs, clarinet, n’vike, harmonium, Korg ms-20, moceño, tapes. owl flute and more, The Garden of Mathematics is an alluring, alien, bizarre, colourful, curious, fascinating, peculiar, romantic and astonishing recording where beauty and unsettled beasts coexist in an exotic exploration of sound and song.

Navigating waters possibly traversed by Angus Maclise, Pygmy Unit and Charlie Nothing, the nine tracks this garden brings forth take the listener on a journey through sound and song via nature and the expansive mind.

The results are a a unique record steeped in a wild mix of folk, ethnomusicology, musique concrete and psychedelia.

I made this track by the ends of 2022, and decided it is time to continue releasing tracks after a creative pause, and a lot of good and not so good experiences that I've been through. It is an edit of Oneohtrix Point Never and I hope I don't get punished about copyrights.
