The song is called "The Grand Prix," and is of course motorsports inspired. This is a rather intense yet introspective synthwave track that uses a synth string ensemble section rather than pads. Juno style plucks and leads of course are present throughout the song. With the exception of the "SoCal Ballad Piano" plugin that comes with logic pro, the tones were achieved via Xfer Serum 2 and the drums are from Captain Beat using a modified version of the "synthwave kit." It's in the key of F#m and is rather fast for a synthwave track at 115 bpm. Tonally, this song draws inspiration from Japanese Jazz Fusion from back in the 80s-90s, such as T-Square.

After what's been undoubtedly a great year for M.A.D.E.S with his 'Nightkiller' single and video being selected as the best Synthwave single and video of 2017 by a number of blogs, his debut album 'Motor' is finally here.

Nine brand new and previously unheard tracks (plus the singles 'Nightkiller' and 'Miami Life') which move between more melodic Synthwave and Darksynth, with the lovely Circe Electro also lending her voice on' Lights'. Right from the opening seconds and intro through to the high octane 'Nightkiller' or 'Escape', this is an album that is as much atmospheric as it is melodic and hard with the French artist finding the perfect balance between all those influences and sub-genres in what is not just M.A.D.E.S' most complete work up to date but also one of the biggest Synthwave albums to come out in 2018.

For all those who have been following M.A.D.E.S' previous work they should already have a good idea what they can expect from 'Motor'. For the rest, prepare for an action packed album full of thrills, suspense, murder and high speed car chases. From palm trees to muscle cars and evil supernatural things, 'Motor' has got it all and is coming at you at 66.6 miles per hour. Enjoy!
