Petite Victory Collective presents 'Minimal City Vol. 2'.

For those following us since the very beginning, you know that sustainability and eco-friendly are some of the keywords of the collective. The collective act towards ecological concerns through music compilations and diverse events supporting ecological initiatives.

Engaging the music community to take action for the environnement is definitely on our to do list. Mostly because there’s no planet B! We are trying to use these challenging times to develop our creativity while pushing boundaries. For this second volume of Minimal City, our artists had to create tracks with samples of Trash recorded during some of our latest workshops.

We're super proud of the team effort on this compilation toward a greener world. From minimal house, ambient, surrealist, DAWless and electronic music, there’s definitely gems for all of you music lovers out there. 

All proceeds from the sales of 'Minimal City Vol. 2' will be funneled directly to BUY FOOD WITH PLASTIC. An organisation built entirely on voluntary contributions, with a core team working hard to coordinate events worldwide that unite people and provide solutions to urgent local problems, such as environmental pollution, hunger, lack of education and poverty.

The Honey Sacrifice was developed as a soundtrack to a film which is yet to be realized. The 13 tracks accredited to the album "Nights in Columbus" reveal the underlying tension between an ever promising future and the stark reality of the present in a ficticious urban zone of Columbus, Ohio. The interplay of the songs represents the struggle, the desolation, hopes realized and forgotten; laid before a solemn semblage of technology, communication and addiction. The various relations of the muscians/actors chronicle the human élan and its creative outpouring through self effacing methods and practices. The Honey Sacrifice asks to remain an album closer to a novel then a proper atmospheric soundtrack. The name refers to a chapter of Thus Spoke Zarathustra: A Book for All and None, an 1883 work by German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. The name's relevance simply states the oppositional forces of things and situations desirable and the sacrifices made to achieve them. Captured digitally in 96 kHz, 24 bit resolution, production aspects were never compromised. Painstaking efforts have been taken to capture all the nuances of the individual performances throughout the soundtrack. Final production and mastering in Weimar, Germany in a spooky coal burning studio with Martin Hirsch behind the desk.

From the Form@ records page: "The latest installment of FORM@ RECORDS’ popular compilation series, Art Form, is finally here — Art Form 4.
Although it has been released only about half a year after the previous volume, getting to this point was by no means easy. The concept had been in mind since the Art Form 3 era, and right after that release we began gathering tracks for this new compilation. At one point, we thought we might be able to release it as early as April or May. While the tracks our artists sent us were all outstanding, they were also quite diverse in genre, which made it difficult to achieve a cohesive compilation.
As a result, we decided to create the first-ever compilation for our sub-series SLIT ART, with a different musical direction from Art Form. By separating the tracks according to genre, we reallocated the submissions and planned to release both projects simultaneously.

We could share many behind-the-scenes stories, but above all, we are simply happy that both projects are now complete and ready to share with you.

Incidentally, with the exception of Missing Project, the lineup of artists on Art Form 4 is different from Art Form 3. This happened partly by chance, but also reflects our intentional choices. This does not mean we have grown distant from the artists who appeared previously. We see the Art Form series as a continuing platform — a place to introduce new artists to our audience as well as to provide a stage for familiar artists to take on new creative challenges."

NQ - Our Own Distance

NQ is Nils Quak. It is his second appearance on Neo Ouija after his contribution to the Diaspora Cottage Industry 5 compilation in 2008. With "Our Own Distance" he returns to more beat based music after a couple of ambient releases under his real name. "Our Own Distance" is a testament of longing – euphoric, melancholic, at times naive, yet confident and reflective. A lot of the tracks were produced on long train rides between different cities to shut out the noises on the outside and inside, watching things pass and resonate.
NIls Quak is also part of the STFU collective – a collection of eletronic music artist, who are deeply rooted in the diy-aesthetic, organizing concerts and festivals in different cities in europe.
