Mother Recordings charges on through 2021 with another superb release. This one from Italian duo The Deepshakerz features Marck Jamz, one of the biggest up and coming artists in Europe at the moment with tracks signed to Sony Music, PIV, Glasgow Underground, Toolroom Records and Defected Records, whilst Amsterdam based DiVine also links brilliantly for the second offering. 

Put You On feat. Marck Jamz is a nice warm house tune with chunky drums to rock the floor. The warped synth and vocals duck and dive to bring movement and the whole thing really pops off. 

Funky Bongos then picks up the pace with a more lively house groove, big chord stabs and some soulful female vocals to add another layer of warmth and richness. 

This is another fine EP from the ever excellent Mother Recordings.

Lose Control is a full on House stomper! The funky bass line groove pushes this track along while Ordonez weaves in the melody from organic synths and adds to the magic with some catchy vocals. The name of the titles says all! Next is Tuba Jam, six minutes full of bounce and 4-to-the-floor! The massive rubber kicks and the sub frequency tickles in the stomach with an infinity tuba groove that add flame to the fire!

‘Gone Too Long’ from rising duo Him_Self_Her is a bonafide bomb - house with feeling and a massive bassline and killer vocal from Kieran Fowkes. Reinvigorated by Crosstown Rebels for a re-release after it came out on Mexican label Cream Couture last year, this time the infectious original comes backed with remixes from Belgian hero Compuphonic, who injects more bounce, bleeps and emotive melody and the mighty Yousef who’s darker ‘Circus Rework’ is a deep affair of rolling drums and dubby textures.

Dynamic duo Him_Self_Her is the astute combination of Claire and Leon who came together after honing individual skills for many years on their local scene in Leicester. All that it took was one studio session to realise the potency of their union and their genre blending productions are showing no bounds - ranging from deep grooves to disco infused techno. ‘Gone Too Long’ was originally released in 2012 and championed by Pete Tong (Essential New Tune) and supported by the likes of Jamie Jones. Damian Lazarus has now signed the duo and along with this re-release there is more to come on the label and the duo also have their debut album in the works.

One of the youngest DJs on the Belgian DJ circuit, Maxime Firket aka Compuphonic broke onto the international scene with a release on Tiga’s Turbo Recordings. Further releases have dropped on highly acclaimed labels including Modular, Darkroom Dubs, Systematic Recordings, 2020 Vision and Parquet Recordings.

Yousef is a mainstay of UK house music. With a career spanning over ten years, the heavyweight DJ / Producer and Promoter founded Circus Recordings and events and has appeared on some of the most revered and respected labels in the business - Carl Cox’s Intec, Nick Curly’s Cecille, Saved and of course Sven Vath’s Cocoon Recordings - which released ‘Come Home’, Yousef’s stunning Piece de Resistance.

The latest signing from the region is fresh Ecuadorian talent ORDONEZ, resident of the world famous Lost Beach Club. THE SPELL EP is definitely one of the biggest releases of 2015 so far, which says a lot as it has been an amazing year so far!

THE SPELL
Smooth grooving percussion pushes this track along while ORDONEZ weaves in the melody from a gritty Rhodes organ and adds to the magic with spiracles of electric piano. But then, the seductive vocals come to the front and the whole track opens up to become one of the catchiest tunes of the year. The drop after the long break is just... no words can describe it! House Music all night long, yeeeah!

Next up is a funky sample-lead house burner. Nice earthy drums and a catchy guitar riff offer a warm vibe for smiles and laughter on the dance floor. ORDONEZ clearly has a very creative mind and this is demonstrated here with his intricate and creative use of sampling and arrangement. Another very strong offering from the newest member of the Mother Recordings family.

'2089 EP' marks his debut on Yousef's Circus Recordings. The 3-tracker opens up with the eponymous track that talks about the authenticity of being themselves and therefore unique, having a personality, even if we are strange to others. The important thing is to live well in our own skin. Only in this way we can be happy and give love.
The second track is 'No Fear'. Just one message: Don't be afraid. Live without fear, because life is the greatest and most precious thing we have.
The closing track, 'Triana', is about Angelo's fascination for Andalusia and the gipsy culture. It's a tribute to his beloved Seville, which amazed him during his last trip. Triana, indeed, is the name of the bridge that connects Seville's center with the Triana district, symbol of the gipsy roots.

What begun life as a finely tuned emotive instrumental, Mele contacted South African vocal hero 'Lazarusman' to empower the collaboration further.   

Lazarusman explains. The spoken lyrics are Inspired by a Panther's behaviour during courtship. Panthers have a gentle majestic dance between the two creatures, never forceful and things only happen when the female gives consent. The lyrics really implore you to be elegant and respectful at all times, how men should always treat women. 'You are the Panther'
