Featuring a dancehall-flavored flip of a Brand Nubian frontman classic on the A-side (by the Texas-based DJ & Producer Nick Nack - who also makes his Heat Rock debut on this 45!), while the B-side boasts a drum-heavy Altered Tapes Brazilian / Bossa / B-Boy remix of one our favorite Dilla productions. Back in 1983, Hashim's „Al Naafiysh“ became one of the defining electro classics. 25 years later, 2 dope boys from Berlin – Marc Hype & Jim Dunloop – pay hommage with their seminal new-funk version (available on their album „Stamp Out Reality“ and on the double a-side 12“ „Rare Occasion“). Due to the versatile qualities of the song, we started a remix competition. Our five favourites are now available on one digi EP. Don't expect the usual MPM style (if there is one for you), it's a mixed bag of 8-bit electro, deep house, knarz house and slomo dub.

Bandulero Sound System: BSS is one of Berlin's premier reggae/dancehall sounds, consisting of Riton, Marc Johnson, Joe Hondah and Jamaican foundation legend Don Gorgon. But their remix is something completely different: bangin' 8-bit electro with serious bassline action.

Nostalgia with a twist - Casual Connection brings a freshness to the Disco, Funk & RnB gems that he so expertly curates. Sampling, editing and re-working classic tracks, his productions are respectful of their origination while bringing something modern and inventive to create a genuine and unique signature sound. 

Casual Connection's, aka Lukasz Ru-Kasu absorbed music from an early age as if by osmosis. From age 8 he grew a passion for music and now has been actively DJing since 2002 and producing since 2014.

Since he started producing back in 2014, Casual Connection has been named in Traxsource's Top 100 Nu Disco artists for 7 consecutive years. He has also been featured in DJ Mag, DJ City, Warner Music's Cool Accidents and gotten over 65 #1's on Hyppedit.
