2017 was one of our busiest yet at Jalapeno HQ with albums from our established roster acts ephemerals, Kraak & Smaak and The Allergies as well as a stunning collection from newcomer Izo FitzRoy and long awaited returns from the funk connoisseur‘s favourite acts Soopasoul, Gizelle Smith and John Turrell. 

As the time of year to collate our annual Jalapeno Funk compilation drew nearer we once again had the enviable headache of having to go through the list to only pick 20 tracks for the record... 

As difficult as it was we can now proudly present to you Jalapeno Funk Vol. 9 - a generous serving of killer cuts from our roster. Bringing you the sounds that made us what we are today - it’s a full length, nonstop party vibe machine... A certified dancefloor magnet and this year a team of scientists have even proven that playing this collection in sequence also makes you physically more attractive and increases your IQ* 

The collection as always is a celebration of our funkiest new releases with classic Jalapeno tracks and exclusives from friends and like-minded labels. The Jalapeno crew are all present and correct with contributions from all the aforementioned artists plus Smoove & Turrell, Dr Rubberfunk, Basement Freaks, Radio Trip and Skeewiff. 

Also our extended Jalapeno family in the shape of Légère Recordings and 45 Live Records have also chipped in with some funk nuggets by Myles Sanko, Boca45 and Aeon Seven for good measure...

Sampling, editing and re-working classic tracks, his productions are respectful of their origination while bringing something modern and inventive to create a genuine and unique signature sound. 

Casual Connection's, aka Lukasz Ru-Kasu absorbed music from an early age as if by osmosis. From age 8 he grew a passion for music and now has been actively DJing since 2002 and producing since 2014.
