In Germany, they call him Dr Death. Gunther von Hagens is world famous for his plastination techniques used to preserve dead bodies for art.

Since 1995 the 'bodyworlds' exhibition has toured as far around the world as customs and quarantine restrictions will allow.

Victoria Knauf spoke to Hagens' wife and creative director Angelina Whalley about the techniques, the beauty and the art of dead bodies.
