Committed to showcasing the very best up and coming drum & bass talent, Hospital Records proudly present their brand new ‘Future Symptoms’ release series. Served in doses of 4-track EPs, the A&R squad have been hard at work finding fresh sounds and unique styles from the next generation of artists. Coming through to make their mark on ‘Future Symptoms Vol.1’ are Winslow, Mozey and Shady Novelle, Villem and Alpha Rhythm, Zeitgeist and Nia Archives.

Following up from his releases on Mitekiss & Mr Porter’s Goldfat imprint and Pilot Records, rapid rank-riser Winslow sets things in motion with ‘Amore’ which sees delicate pianos and trinkling ride cymbals flourish into a jazz-infused drum & bass masterpiece. Snappy drums and Winslow’s very own vocals flare into the limelight as he proves why he’s quickly progressing from one to watch to a staple of the scene.

With releases on Liquid V, Souped Up, and Serial Killaz, Mozey steps up alongside Shady Novelle with ‘Sometimes’. This floaty stepper warmed by Shady Novelle’s vocals soon turns dark and dangerous when a fizzling bassline and unruly drumwork take hold. This isn’t the first time this duo have done damage in the studio - their release on DJ Zinc’s Bingo Bass imprint received support from Rene LaVice on BBC Radio 1 in 2020.

Drum & bass master Villem paired up with one of his promising production students Alpha Rhythm, who hosts his very own drum & bass podcast which racks up thousands of weekly views. ‘The Maker’ is a treat for the senses - blissfully atmospheric and equipped with hypnotic arpeggios and soothing pads, this one is for the deep liquid heads.

Promising musical talent Zeitgeist and V Recordings’ EQ50 mentee, singer-songwriter Nia Archives lay down unparalleled vibes on ‘Move On’, as upbeat guitar strums and feel-good trumpets pave the way for meticulously crafted breakbeats and a hefty upright bassline. With both Zeitgeist and Nia Archives claiming a healthy selection of self-releases, there’s no doubt these two will be at the forefront of drum and bass’ next generation.

The heart chakra, or Anahata, is the fourth chakra, located in the center of the chest. It is the energy center of love, compassion, forgiveness, and connection—both to ourselves and others. When balanced, it opens us to giving and receiving love freely, and cultivates empathy, peace, and emotional healing. This track is composed in the musical note F, which resonates with the heart chakra, and features the bija mantra YAM, which can be chanted to open and harmonize this center of unconditional love. It is also tuned to 432Hz, a frequency believed to promote cellular healing and emotional balance.

Heart Chakra

Synthetics is a deep, emotional liquid roller from Fr4ktion that blends moody atmospheres with liquid-inspired grooves. Rolling breaks and subtle textures carry the track forward, while the bassline moves with a dark yet hypnotic flow. Layered pads and haunting vocal elements inject raw emotion, creating a contrast between melancholy and intensity.

With the combined knowledge and experience of 100 copies of ‘All Crews’, these top selectors have put a serious amount of hard work into selecting the tracklist for this release.

Take for example the stone cold Cutty Ranks classic ‘Limb by Limb’. This gets the DJ Hybrid remix treatment whilst maintaining a close relationship with the original lick. Benny Page fires up his VIP remix of ‘Turn Down the Lights’ and Dope Ammo brings forth the Ed Solo remix of ‘Babylon Falling’.
