We suffered a loss a few years ago that plunged us into depression and grief.  We kept seeing him and hearing him in the house for months after, but he was gone.  

This song was written in that time as a way to express that deep loss we felt and to always remember him.

"I think it's a nice song to end everything with. Say you go through some kind of feelings of this nature, and then at the end, when you're finally like... "You know what? This isn't going to work out and that's totally fine." It's like coming to terms with that. It's like "Hope she's happy. It's okay. It's for the best, in a way." So yeah, I don't know. I think it made sense to me that it was one of the last songs on the EP."

I Stole And Then I Lied is the latest silver pressing of one of the most common Smiths tapes.  This concert was organized and promoted by the Dutch music magazine Vinyl’s fifth anniversary.  It was The Smith’s first concert in a non-English speaking country.  The complete concert was recorded and various subsets were broadcast on KRO radio at different times.
