Alrighty! Here’s my first. First tagalog song composed! (whew finally got to it right? It took me 18 years to write a song in my native language). It’s crazy, it is difficult to recall such words now, I wish I would’ve done more of this earlier. Nevertheless, the whole time I thought I was in trouble with my tagalog but, when I was able to finish it, of course with the gracious and immensely helpful friend of mine, Ace (aceus.tumblr.com), a huge relief was reached. THANKs ACE FOR ALL YOUR CHECKING AND THE WHOLE SECOND VERSE. *HUGS ACROSS THE WORLD FOR YOU*

So about the song. When I started writing this and shared the chorus to Ace, he reminded me it had an Up Dharma Down vibe to it. I have never listened to any tagalog indie/jazzy artists/bands before (I didn’t know they existed!) but when I did listen, man, what a compliment. New doors open. And that is the beginning of the middle of the story. I then ran with that Up Dharma Down vibe.

Wrote this for the sentimental dreamers. Cheers to heartstrings.

Oh hey! just finished writing this song this morning! I completely changed the direction of what I had initially written about 3 months ago (thanks to an inspiration). 

It's about helping a friend, who seems to be submerged in darkness. No matter how far they've gone to the dark, it's your job to tell them otherwise and believe that the inner light in them will over-shine the shadows. That no matter what the situation is, you, as a friend, will be there through the thick and thin and help guide them through.

First verse is being attached to a friend. That that person has caught their attention and now, they will never be forgotten.  As friends, you look out for each other. Ignorance toward each other and what you're going through doesn't exist. You're there for each other.

Chorus is helping one through a tough situation and rooting for them to fight through. You may not necessarily give them the answer but, you'll be there with them along the way. No matter how long it'll take to recover, as a friend, you'll wait

The last verse is the persuasion. The choice you make to leave your "home" - your comfort zone and follow the hurt.

This is probably on the top 3 of my utmost favorite songs. The lyrics speak so poetically (and so does other hymns) but, this song I instantaneously fell in love with.
A good friend of mine, Limxuv, helped me out with this and considering the amount of instruments and percussion we used (ahem ahem, keys (Kee), guitar (Leila), and shakers) I think we did pretty well. On top of that, he and I recorded separately so keeping everything in sync was a challenge (mostly on his part... sorry! i've a poor sense of tempo).
