The Only Way (Live)

Cat Like Thief are a three piece Alternative/Indie Rock band based in Whitehaven, Cumbria. We have a distinct sound of our own, influenced by bands such as Biffy Clyro, Foo Fighters and Sum 41 to mention a few. Lot’s of people say we sound a bit like Placebo (mainly due to the similarity in vocal style).

We are a hard working band – always looking for new gigs and prestigious venues to play. Having played nearly everything possible to play in Cumbria, the band are expanding their horizons and looking to take our show other parts of the country.

Our new demo is free to anyone who wants a copy – either by downloading from our site or asking us personally for a cd. The songs are written by Jordan (our Singer / guitarist). Paul adds his own quite heavy style of drumming and Phil has some great bass ideas. The combination gives us our distinctive tight and energetic sound – we are really proud of it ! The live versions of our songs are a little heavier than the cd versions – as you would expect. Our live shows just get better and better – we leave every ounce of energy behind us when we come off stage.

The three piece line up have been together for nearly two years and we work very hard to ensure that the band makes continuous progress in terms of musicianship, song writing and visual performance etc. The band are currently ‘well drilled’, rehearsed and ready to put on a tight energetic show of up to an hour. We rarely play covers, prefering instead to let our songs do the talking. We have confidence that people who have not heard us before will enjoy our set and will want to see us play again.

The band worked extremely hard during 2011, writing, gigging, rehearsing and recording which resulted in two EP’s being recorded in one year. The band have played some great gigs recently and the bookings for 2012 are going well. We are very excited about being invited to play on BBC introducing later in the year, and are hoping that this year is the year we will be spotted by someone who wants to invest in us and sign us up for an album. Jordan is keen to get to work on the new material he has written for the band.
