UK-based Nang presents Disco legend Rayko latest album, due for release on the 31st of March 2014 on vinyl and digitally. 

Nang has been releasing quality Disco since its inception, dropping tracks from the likes of Martin Brodin, Tensnake, Daniele Baldelli, Brioski, Toby Tobias and with an incredible list of remix artists such as Luke Solomon, Andrew Weatherall and Lindstrom amongst other. This spring they are delivering Disco visionary Rayko's latest album Rebirth which follows Rayko's latest single, Rusos Theme on the Uk-based imprint. 

The LP comprises 10 forward thinking disco tracks and it opens with Balearic Intro, which is a slow tempo moody disco tune, guided by an almost talking guitar solo. The second track The Cave is clearly influenced by 80s synth rock while Time And Space is more a deep club focused tune. The fourth cut Nightlogy is a perfect example of how Rayko can revitalise dated sounds and give them new shine, adding on top of the tune a soulful vocal. This last cut is on par with Rusos Theme, a more pop oriented track driven by the hypnotic male voice that repeats "I'm gonna make you love me.", quite a clear mission statement!

The LPs title track merges acid synth lines with a relentless groove and its a strong dancefloor focused track. He Came From The Space is an uplifting funky tune, while Dreamer is a more groovy synth driven tune with a cheeky vibe to it. The last 2 tracks are the perfect ending for the album: Warhammer is a slow moody cut while the closing tune Goodbye Baby is a proper club track, in which a funky slapped bass line is combined with guitar riffs and a long ethereal pad, it rounds off the release perfectly and feels like the end of the show.

Spain's Rayko latest LP Rebirth is due for release on the 12th of May: keep your eyes out all Disco heads.

Here's a little blast from the recent past. Four years after the digital edition, @wotnotmusic are pressing one of their favourite ever releases to wax. 'Dancefloor Sweets Vol. 1' features tracks from artists like K15 and IMYRMIND who have gone on to become respected names, as well as a new cut from SexRulesEverything.

The closing track comes from Glenn Kelly (Jeeks), who has since retired from the circuit. This is something of a minor tragedy as 'Parma' is a glorious technicolour explosion, kind of like the stickiest, chewiest gumball imaginable. Bouncy and buoyant in all the best possible ways, with enough poolside energy to see you through the winter months.

With the brand new 'Dancefloor Sweets Vol. 2' coming out alongside the reissue on 28th Nov, and new material on the way in 2017, we're confident you'll be hearing a whole lot more from WotNot.

Australian surf buddy Jad & The (Ladyboy) is back on the German Toy Tonics label where he started his career 3 years ago. Jad currently moved to Berlin, where he isn’t distracted from too much sun and good waves. Seems that he spent a lot of time in the his new studio: Besides this new Toy Tonics EP he has new releases on Mike Simonetti's 2MR label, Sonar Kollektiv and Centre Source Records (part of Lobster Theremin's cohort).

But this one for Toy Tonics is really a killer. 
4 smooth tracks. Clever constructed, with a heavy DIY vibe, but musically on the highest level.
Stylewise: somewhere between the easy moods of DJ Alfredo, the early Nuphonic records and the soulful vibe that you can hear on many new little labels currently. On point.

The name Hugo Mari might not ring a bell just yet, but we’ve got a feeling this is about to change real soon. He’s released a handful of EP’s under his former alias Books on Omena and XVI including his own edit series on the latter label (check out his killer track ‘in the groove or his jazzy deep house collaboration with Zodiac called ‘Feel it in my Bones’). Considering he’s also remixed well known artists like afrobeat legend Dele Sosimi and grime master Trim, you might share our view of this amazingly talented and versatile producer. His “Change ur ways” EP for Heist is soulful, jazzy, deep and energetic with three varied originals and a classic soulful house remix by man of the moment, NDATL label head Kai Alcé.
