The POAN Collaborations EP is a journey into musical kinship. It is a project spawned from the idea that we can create so much more potent art when we come together and combine our strengths to create something that we could never create on our own. These collaborations were birthed out of the musical genius of Lorenzo Mantovani of the ambient instrumental project POAN (his project with Giacomo Barbari). Lorenzo put together seven different loop packs using his wide range of instruments which were then passed on to these producers to create something totally new out of the recordings. Each track takes on a whole new life of it’s own with the unique beat driven approach of each individual producer. The collaborations range from high energy dance tracks to deep hypnotic introspective journeys with everything in between. May this collaborative effort be a testament to the potency of coming together as a collective musical family.

Lost in Translation

This the first piece of music from my new Shamanic minimal psy tech house whatever experimental project entitled "The Cat's Pajamas" :) 

Ive have SOOOOO much fun creating this music. After touring through Europe this last summer, I was exposed to a sea of new genre bending musical soundscapes.

Ive been combing sounds of interesting organic elements, with Shamans blowing the sounds of the wind and flute with very delicate minimal soundscapes, beats, and a little sultry spice :) I hope you guys enjoy.

Born in the unseeded Coast Salish territory called East Vancouver (by the colonizers), BC, Canada, Michael Mars Riel is Plains Cree and French on his Father Arthur’s side and Irish and Scottish on his Mother Susan’s side. Michael is a descendant of the leader of the Red River Resistance Louis Riel(look him up), who is a vital part of Canadian History. 

Michael or sometimes just Mars aka. Infinity Frequency has found joy in playing with sound since he was five, when his mother bought him his first ghetto blaster with a three band equalizer and a little casio synthesizer. Since then his curiosity regarding technology and sound has taken him on a journey through diverse investigations into various flavors of sounds and in their creation.

Michael has special place in his heart for creating an atmosphere of exploration; nurturing movement within space in the present moment, through the auditory experience. 

With great honor and appreciation for creators and listeners everywhere Mars shares his humble creations with gratitude.
