The VA is to fundraise money for Georgia & contributions against the ongoing political situation there as a collaboration between re:flect recordings & Klangangriff.

Georgia’s democracy is under threat - along with its progressive communities & the country’s vibrant cultural & creative landscape.

We are deeply shocked to witness how the Georgian government continues to distance itself from the EU, and democratic values – acting against the will of the overwhelming majority of its people.

Freedoms of assembly, art, expression & speech, as well as the rights of minorities, including the LGBTQIA* community, are being increasingly curtailed. These repressive moves are backed by laws that have been copied almost word for word from Kremlin policy. Protests against the regime have been met with systematic repression, and the number of political prisoners is rising. Nevertheless, people have taken to the streets for 200 days – with marches drawing record-breaking crowds.

With our fundraiser campaign, supported by various artists from we aim to collect donations for local (sub)cultural spaces – such as clubs and community venues where progressive-minded people gather – as well as for NGOs that promote independent media, queer visibility, and minority rights.

Furthermore, we believe it is crucial to raise awareness in the so-called Western world about the political shift in Georgia & Russia's growing influence. Sadly, these developments receive far too little coverage in mainstream media – even within the "club scene". That’s why this campaign will also support organizations working in western Europe to raise visibility, host events & demonstrations, and publicly call out the Kremlin-aligned oligarchs in Georgia’s ruling class – urging the EU to take action!

As with our successful Ukraine Fundraiser Collection – which has already raised nearly €7,000 – 100% of the net proceeds will be donated to the selected projects. This time, we are collaborating with the international collective Klangangriff, based in Switzerland and Georgia.
