Elevated far above the streets in one of the towering high-rise buildings that dominated the urban heart, the sound of the high-octane pursuit below barely penetrated the bleak musty cubical. Its cigarette-stained walls are etched with the marks he’d made to signify the passing of his life in this space. The ever-present hum of building’s servers that once he’d thought faintly pleasant, oppressively penetrated his eardrums - continually evolving… scraping the inside of his brain like sonic sandpaper. Flickering lights from the city’s exterior advertisements strobed across the dark sea of cubicles, the huddled occupants of each fixated on the faint glow of their viewscreens, their enslaved minds pouring over the flow of a sea of meaningless data. The lights hurt his eyes these days, each wave illuminating his dank space peaked his migraine – like shards of glass penetrating deep into the roots of his skull and twisting within his cortex on the way. He was at the edge, hovering on the very horizon of sanity itself… the boundary blurring – what was more insane – this existence? Or the one he desired – to tear himself free from the bonds of this reality… for his heart to burn with the light of a thousand stars as he steered his body towards the purity of presence outside of this slavery… to defy the great architect and stand proud just for a moment… Just as this thought manifested, he felt the tight grip upon his shoulder - briskly pulling him around to see the corrupt, fat, distorted face of the overseer sneering down through that twisted crevice of a mouth. Those chains broke – he felt his hand grasping the keyboard that he had been so long manacled to in his mind, moving with the rotation of the chair as he rose swiftly with the roar that escaped him so fluidly. The overseer’s shocked expression froze in time as the keyboard collided with his mouth – landing with such brutal force that the shockwave passed through his fat face. With that roar, he felt free… he had found himself.
 
SEGMENT & CONCEPT VISION follow up their incredible MAMMOTH EP with their 2nd impressive outing on neurofunk’s leading label, EATBRAIN. Proving once more the exceptional skill of their combined production with the 5 heavy-duty tracks of the ROAR EP (including free release with the vocal-led ‘EMPIRE’), the pair set the bar high through their powerful sound. Whether it’s the stuttering might of title track ROAR with its nightmare fueled arpeggios, or the dub-influenced sci-fi majesty of THIRST (featuring COD3X) - each track proves more relentless than the last. This is tear-out neurofunk at its best, proving once again the strength of the EATBRAIN sound and cementing another incredible pair of Russian producers within the roster.

Hailing from Wales in the UK, BMotion is one of Viper Recordings’ freshest and most eclectic talents. Signing exclusively to the label in 2014 and dropping his debut single ‘Feelings / Something, Something’ on sister label Viper VIP to huge success, the talented young producer has already gained momentous support from the likes of TC, Cyantific, Sub Focus, Matrix & Futurebound, Crissy Criss, Danny Byrd, Metrik, Netsky and many more.

Over the last two years, BMotion has become a respected name in the industry and has consistently brought the heat with releases such as the Beatport chart topping ‘Bear Hug / Vice City’ and ‘Arabia / Ignition’ in 2015. Eutopia kicks off BMotion’s new single with a distinctly retro, jazz-fueled intro. Twisting and turning through a range of distorted synths and progressive drums, the track quickly picks up pace before catapulting into a hard-hitting drop packed with fierce stabs and snares. Splicing together an explosive mix of funky retro and a heavy, rolling bassline, the producer impresses from the get-go with this turbo charged opening tune.

On the flip side, Release Valve opens up on a more chilled vibe. Starting off by incorporating an electric guitar into an echoing build-up, the track is then instantly transformed as a powerful, gritty bassline takes over the moment the drop hits. Bringing some next-level energy and aiming straight for the center of the dancefloor, this killer tune packs some serious ferocity.

Showcasing yet more faultless production and bringing to the table undoubtedly two of the biggest Drum and Bass tracks to hit dancefloors this autumn, BMotion is wasting no time in setting himself apart from the competition.

The signal had flickered into existence without warning, a sudden complex sequence that almost filled the awaiting databanks within moments and laid out an array of schematics beyond comprehension. For years they labored, first to understand and then to build the machine it described, a craft that could finally escape the outermost reaches of the solar system and carry a single human beyond the limits of their star, to the point of the signal’s source. They picked the passenger with care - their most capable pilot, linguist and scientist, ascribed beyond the limits of fear through overwhelming curiosity… The journey was swift, covering that most immeasurable of distances in human terms within days. As he drew close to the origin, far from the sun and beyond the influence of the system, it appeared as a speck in the distance but quickly grew into a sight of overwhelming complexity, a vast silent ship, and static in the darkness, blotting out the light of distant stars. As the shuttle drew close, it shuddered into life, internal lights hesitating before firmly illuminating and colossal vents purged gases into the yawning nothingness of space. The vessels nestled together, extending appendages and exchanging code. With a sigh the airlock opened and sequential lighting ushered him within the vacant hulk, a faint trembling of power running through the hull and beneath his feet. He entered the endless chamber with wide pupils, so big that it receded into blackness, the overwhelming mechanism before him filling his vision – a vast sphere engineered to an impossible configuration… a pathway to the stars… the WARP DRIVE.

Redpill hit the scene with a seismic impact, channelling a work rate which is enviable for even the most long-standing drum & bass artist. Since that first catapult into notoriety, he’s stayed on its forefront by peddling release after release, ensuring each one maintains the incredible production he’s become renowned for. A golden-child of the neurofunk world, Redpill has delivered music for its biggest players, including colossal imprints such as Eatbrain, Invisible, Cause 4 Concern and Bad Taste. For this next single he nestles himself into the discography of Druid Records, a label well known for stretching their feelers throughout drum & basses sound spectrum and building a home for its bustling underground. 

Alongside the growling vocal prowess of Lifesize MC, Redpill offers up an explosive first track for the double sided single. ‘Ruin Orchestra’ is an oxymoron; it draws out an impeccable musicality whilst contorting it into something almost unrecognisable. Snarling from start to finish and clawing at you with every fluctuating set of beats, Redpill douses your aural synapses. The shaking LFO sits beneath its mix, eyeing you menacingly between the dipping bassline. Among the fray, snippets of Lifesize MC’s riddims cut through the composition, with spikes of synth adding an ominous feel. The track’s structure includes a tidal-wave like second breakdown, one which takes you just as deep as the last, never allowing you to come up for air. Redpill demonstrates why he’s made an impact over recent months; his unfaltering standards are recognisable from the very beginning.

On the flipside comes ‘Skies Fall’, a clunking, robotic concoction of heavy-hitting drums and a snake-like bassline. Subs shiver beneath the record’s weight, drawing you closer and closer into its almost demonic grip. With a creeping melody making itself known part-way, it flows from an electronic guitar riff to another tell-tale drop. Redpill does what he does best, leaving no prisoners for an all-out assault on your senses… And both tracks are a testament to that. ‘Skies Fall’ and ‘Ruin Orchestra’ are a force to be reckoned with, much like their creator.
