In the fourth addition to his eagerly awaited new EP, Computerartist seems to be breaking under pressure... Starting full of strength with Crank It Up and Iridescent ft. Embr, the ever returning (or never ending?) lockdowns were hardly good for him as the next single brought him and Kryptomedic a heavy Downfall. Abandoned by all his peers Computerartist now dwells in Solitude...

Seems unlikely? Because it is. Against all odds Computerartist keeps his wits and fights this dreadful feeling with courage and most of all -- pure dancefloor vibes. Quiet intro is broken with a heavy kick and it is clear to all but the most oblivious where this song is headed. Bass rises in pitch, kicks repeat in quick succession until the drop hits the squad. No time to feel alone, no sense to dwell on old memories or focus on new dreads, there is only one way forward and that is to enjoy the present.

A stable line connects all of the last four singles -- the artworks done by Hoofbeats' resident artist (and a dj & producer himself) Shmidoo. Only four panels of a comic book style story rather heard than seen depict an artist and his trusty gaming guitar -- because seriously, who wants to cut their fingers on actual strings nowadays -- as he collects strength for a powerful outburst, gives it all and then prepares for the inevitable retribution. Even gaming controllers can hurt your fingers, even virtual emotions can drain you, the line between the real and simulated has been blurred and we are standing on the edge of a new paradigm. As our world turns digital and LED screens become portals connecting us to friends, relationships, work and play alike, Computerartist rides the compressed and quantized waves of emotion through virtual space and beyond into the surreal.

'Another Day' opens with aplomb. Marianna Ray's melodious vocal plays out atop stirring violin riffs and driving percussion, setting an epic tone for the rest of the track. The introduction continues, rising and rising until its peak; one drum hit signalling the transition to the verse. 

Here, the energy is high. The bass riffs of 'Another Day' detonate the sound system while drum lines stomp underneath them. Later in the mix, the trio introduce a synth motif, its high pitch harmonising with the gritty low-end to create a textural duality more than pleasing to the ears.

Causing unease, causing disquiet and causing some serious dancefloor damage, Cause4Concern are back to their invincible best, and those caught in their collective laser beams will never be quite the same again. Optiv (Deceased) & CZA have been an institution in drum & bass since their collective beginning back in 1999, and are in no way ready to give up on their plans of world domination just yet. 

From their London base, they have set about and conquered many different styles of drum & bass, be it on their own family of labels, or via such major players as Virus, Invisible, Quarantine, Playaz and many more. Their performances have graced all parts of the world, and have left crowds stunned and begging for more. Their artistry, versatility and quality are all hallmarks of their dedication to the scene, stretching back some 20 years. 

Since the very start, C4C have been widely respected, no matter what they have turned their hands to. Their first release was on the mighty Moving Shadow, and it wasn’t long until they put their creative heads together, and started their own seminal imprint. That label, C4C Recordings, has seen releases and remixes from some amazing artists, including Audio, Prolix, Black Sun Empire, Mindscape, Teebee, Gydra, Matrix, IHR and more, and, as artists themselves. One of their finest moments came with the issue of the Pandemic album in 2008, further cementing their reputation for awe-inspiring, high quality music. 

C4C’s sound is a story of contrasts. From the light to the dark, but deeper, and deeper still, they blend the seemingly simple with the highly intricate. Crystalline drums mix with warming, liquid bass notes. C4C are, and have never been, about any one thing, but add elements to their palette which are least expected. Their music shines with brilliance, being sharply original and experimental at all times. Deep, nearly spiritual grooves mix easily with a nose for the dancefloor. You have to listen to fully understand. 

C4C stand as warriors in an ever-changing scene. Their importance has never been more apparent than now, as they reaffirm their passion and integrity with new music and increased touring activity. They represent something pure, something unsullied in their approach to music making, with each member adding their own style to compliment the others’. 

2019 is seeing renewed activity right across the C4C spectrum. With a whole host of upcoming releases from themselves as well as brand-new material from respected artists In the scene, they continue to shape the drum & bass world with regular live and radio appearances.
