Having introduced a plethora of some of the most talented and versatile producers working within Drum & Bass today, it makes sense in 2013 – a full five years after Mainframe’s debut release – that the label should simultaneously revisit and re-imagine a four-piece set of tracks that have represented in full our sound since the very beginning. Reading like a who’s-who of forward-thinkers whilst presenting both debuting and returning artists, the Remix EP is no mere retrospective: four tracks varying wildly in composition and tone, a true display of production excellence from a collective at the height of their respective technical abilities. In a far-off kingdom, there lived a Witch Queen who ruled with an iron fist. She was feared by all, and many people whispered stories about her dark magic and cruelty. One day, a brave hero named Oakly decided that he could no longer stand idly by and watch as the queen terrorized her subjects. With his sword in hand and his heart full of determination, he set out on a quest to confront the witch queen and put an end to her reign of terror.

After a long and treacherous journey, Oakly finally arrived at the witch queen's castle. The queen laughed when she saw him, thinking that he was no match for her dark magic. But Oakly stood his ground, and with a mighty swing of his sword, he managed to strike the queen with a powerful blow. The witch queen screamed in fury and agony as she was sent off into Oblivion, never to be seen or heard from again. With the witch queen defeated, the people of the kingdom could finally live in peace, and Oakly became known as a hero who saved them from a terrible fate.

We are excited to announce the latest release from Oakly, the highly anticipated drum and bass EP featuring the tracks “Witch Queen" and "Oblivion." This release showcases Oakly's signature sound, blending hard-hitting drums with melodic synth lines and atmospheric soundscapes.

The lead track, "Witch Queen," is a haunting tribute to the evil ruler who once terrorized the kingdom. The pulsing beats and eerie vocal samples create a sense of foreboding, while the driving bassline will keep listeners moving. "Oblivion," on the other hand, is a more introspective track, with its ethereal pads and cascading arpeggios. Together, these two tracks create a powerful and dynamic release that is sure to satisfy fans of Oakly's unique style

One year had passed since the devastation of mankind. All life ravaged by the undead plague, a tide of death sweeping across the planet mercilessly, as the ever-growing mass of the lifeless swelled in its wake. The sentient population of the globe was reduced to pitiful numbers, hiding in the wreckage of once vibrant cities, long since destroyed in the futile battle for survival. Where once there was hope for survival, now remained only the ember of a desperate memory of a different future. The cycle of the dead was ever in motion, their ragged forms roaming in packs, haunting the urban desolation. Ever-dimming senses of their terminal animated corpses constantly ready to consume the living. An endless yearning to feed drove them relentlessly onwards through the desolate shadows of civilization’s end, whilst the earth below those skulking feet continued its galactic voyage obliviously. Above one such horde, a celestial alignment was unfurling in the cold depths of space. As the sun burned blood red against the horizon and the moon slid serenely across its infernal face, the light dimmed as heavy shade drew across planet. The shuffling of the horde paused as distant poured their anguish into the sky at the early arrival of night. Rotting faces raised to the heavens, the light of that unholy corona spilling across their putrid features. The dying rays of a bleak sunset penetrating their rotting sockets, as the SOLAR ECLIPSE leveled darkness upon the earth with raging eternal might.
 
Hungarian neurofunk legend CHRIS.SU returns to the EATBRAIN label in full force, following up his ‘Underground Culture’ label anthem and State of Mind Collaboration ‘Chariots’ with his first full EP – SOLAR ECLIPSE. From the eerie and suspenseful atmosphere of the title track in collaboration with label core JADE & MINDSCAPE, to the driven filth of THE LAST LAUGH, wrapped in the sinister lyrics of NUKLEAR, through to the shimmering but powerful sci-fi aesthetics of THE ARROW, Chris.SU delivers a pure slice of heaviness for one of dnb’s most vibe-laden imprints. ‘Modulation’ is a single which once again demonstrates why The Prophecy has been gaining traction within their genre. Its construction points at how meticulous their production standard is, with carefully layered beat patterns and a heavyweight bassline which adds to the track’s heavier elements. The track begins to build steadily on light percussion, before its breakdown drops into segments of pumping distortion. Each flurry of beats pushes the track further and further onto the dancefloor, a sure-fire record which will rattle club speakers from Slovakia to the UK. It sets a precedent for the duo, epitomising a level of sonic manufacturing often not seen within artists just at the beginning stages of their career.
